  1. I'm a first time mom too. It was a very interesting experience that I'd love to do again. My story on my son's birth is at 8cm dilated he was stuck so I was given 2 options wait 2 hours see if anything changes and risk losing him or have an emergency c section .. I didn't want yet another surgery but I didn't go all this way to not have my son so I was cut open.

  2. Okay I did not expect to get this emotional!! :'( Congratulations!!

  3. I am really sorry you had to go through all that! Your experience is definitely not the norm! But you’re an extremely strong and capable woman and I take my hat off to you!!
One last thing; I just wanted to share that I too had a 6 lb baby boy, (emergency c-section 3 weeks early)…and today he’s 6’4” 265 lbs!! Nothing wrong with a small baby! Congratulations on your beautiful son!!

  4. Wow your birth plan was so detailed! My water broke and I got my partner to stop by taco be and get me a burrito, then he drove me to the hospital and I told them I think I’m having a baby. Lol

  5. You are so amazing! So brave! Was thinking, whatever you believe your shortcomings we're on this journey, they weren't shortcomings or anything negative like guilt. You just gave birth with lots of hormones raging, so you are courageous!
I recently started watching your channel, just as you were cooking so much to freeze for your husband and yourself. I couldn't understand how at 39 weeks, plus you still had so much energy! And your organizational skills and focus were amazing wonderful, and you did seems to experience brain fog like so many women do.
God bless you and your wonderful husband, Josh, and your parents. And God bless baby A❤️🙏.
Praying for your continuing recovery to be quick and uneventful. And you get to enjoy all those lovely meals you prepared!

  6. I know exactly how you felt as when I delivered my first baby 41 years ago, I also had pre-eclampsia. Back then they didn't use magnesium, but phenobarbital. I vaguely remember my daughter's birth, my peripheral vision was distorted and they said I actually did have a stroke during labor. I wasn't allowed to see her for 24 hours because of my blood pressure being so high. Due to the stroke I stuttered for about 3 months after she was born and was put on a very strict no salt diet. I'm so glad none of that happened to you! You are an incredible source of joy and I wish you, Josh and your new Baby A health and happiness in the new year!!

  7. Magnesium is AWFUL!!!! I swell up like a balloon, my face was lumpy, i couldn't walk, and had to take a wheelchair to see my baby in NICU, i hated it. But thank God for modern medicine!!!

  8. Becky , I don’t know where you get your energy but you are an Amazing woman. I want to congratulate you and Josh on your new baby boy. I’m so happy that You and your baby are doing well.

  9. The 38 week weight from the ultrasound could have been as much as 20% wrong. Don’t have any guilt that you might have done anything or not caught something that impeded his growth. You are amazing and you make my life better, Becky. Thank you for being you and congratulations to you and Josh on your baby boy!

  10. Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy!!! It’s scary being a new Mom to be,I guess I wasn’t worried about anything with our first one,I was in labor about 2 hours and my water broke at home, so I called my hubby to come home. And we had our little girl at 12:36 on the 12th of December 34 years ago! We had another girl 4 yrs later and a boy 18 months later. All of our bundles of joy!!! Worth all the pain, sad that they are all grown, but now we look forward to our Grandbabies! 😊

  11. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Becky, I'm sorry you had to go through all of that scary stuff and I'm so happy that everything came out okay! Sending lots of hugs !

  12. Im sooo sorry you had to go through all that , but so happy you are ok and that the baby is fine and healthy! My duaghter had her 2nd baby, a girl , on 12/21 , she had a brief stay in NICU due to being a bit stun when she was born and mom needed stitches, but she was happy it was not another c section. Placenta Previa, is no laughing matter. When I would watch your videos I was concern of all you were doing, even with all your energy , I wanted to say, sit down and enjoy this time because when the baby is born its not going to be the same. Be Blessed honey , as you already are. Be Well, Be Free! May God bounty of love and grace always bless your home and stead!

  13. My 1st son was born 6lbs 3 oz on his thirty day check-up he was 12lbs 6 oz. He doubled his weight in thirty days.

  14. I’m currently 40 +5 and the sweep didn’t work for me and I was 2 cm dilated 😢 induction book for early next week and this baby isn’t coming out 😅

  15. I feel guilty that all 5 of my deliveries were so easy and no issues. I’m very nearly 70 and I have never, ever heard all that you’ve been through. Wow! But you came out the other side with a beautiful baby boy! So happy for all 3 of you. Love love love your channel.

  16. That’s so interesting that you could move around while having an epidural. My epidural literally paralyzed me from the chest down and I’m claustrophobic so my 40 hr labor was essentially a 40 hr panic attack. I still have ptsd from that and it was 10 years ago. Took me years to stop
    Crying over it too…

  17. Also, your duola knew <3

Congrats and so glad you are okay!
Everyone's delivery comes with unique challenges. Childbirth has humbled me, all mom's are superheroes as far as I'm concerned!
I needed reconstructive surgery after my first child.

  18. Remember ( for next time) if they say push it’s a good sign as it means baby is pushing out too 🙂 don’t worry, pushing part means the pain is almost over :). Congratulations to you both! Take a very good rest now 🙂

  19. Awww I got so teary when you were talking about the pushing! That was also my worst fear for my babies. Thankfully the 3 born after my first were quick pushing, compared to the 2 hours she took

  20. Magnesium is a mineral you need in yr body, normally.we are all deficient in this country. I did the Lamaze method, had short labor.also my baby was small and cold.sounds like you had alot of "medical interventions". Maybe u need closer monitoring with next baby? Hard to hear u experienced the pre-eclampsia.thanks for sharing.

  21. Wow what a story! This is pretty much the opposite of my birth experiences, I've never had a baby in hospital, much less had to deal with something as scary as preeclampsia. I'm so glad you had such experienced nurses! The sheet thing is an old Mexican tradition called Rebozo and it's awesome!

Your story is so different from mine, but you have a beautiful baby after all that and that's what counts!

    Congratulations!

  22. I had my girl in 1994.
I labored at home two weeks prior to her arrival. Dhe wad born 2 weeks ahead of time. She came quiickly

  23. I have preeclampsia too and our girl is only 6.1 lbs too. That’s within normal range. I was also a small baby. We are currently in the hospital being induced because of it.

  24. I'm sorry that you got suckered into getting an epidural rather than the much safer I.V pain relievers. I hope you don't suffer the catastrophic, long term spinal and/or general back ailments that every woman I've ever known or spoken to has suffered because of that dangerous farce. I'm also sorry that you had an Ignorant, shi*ty doctor who didn't inform you of the documented dangers of spinal anesthetics.

  25. You are exceptional, doing your housework mid-labor!? Gosh. I'm such a big baby when pregnant

  26. Oh Becky! The hits just kept on coming. I was crying with you. What a rough go your first time. Praying for your continued recovery and for baby A and Josh. Hope you guys have a blessed New Year and get lots of rest. Hugs! ~Lindsey
