Welcome! Today, I was asked a simple but poignant question my sweet and wise friend: “Can you find the beauty in the rain?” she asked. This was in response to my continued complaint about our wet weather. It was to the point where even the sound of rain was bothering me. “How is that possible?” She asked me. “So many people fall asleep to the sound of the rain.” After a pause, I realized, she was right! I was looking at the day in completely the wrong way. Her advice shifted my mindset 180 degrees and I decided to start looking for the beauty in the situation instead of wallowing in the wetness. I hope this video encourages all of you to find the beauty in whatever situation you are in right now. Come with me today to find the beauty in the rain. 🌧 Enjoy!

Beautiful! I love this! I love rain in general, and we don't get a lot of it where I live in zone 6….but lots of snow…which I hate. Rain is my favorite element I think. 🙂
Update: I decided to pause the video and go look at my garden in the snow to find the beauty. When snow first falls, it's BEAUTIFUL, but then the plows come and then cinders and salt and dirt and it just looks gross. In my garden, birds drop things on it and things fall out of the trees and it also just looks dirty. But I looked and found shasta daisy leaves trying to grow up through the snow. My kitty's tiny paw prints are ADORABLE in the snow! The water and ice coming out of the drain pipes is wonderful. The ice is especially beautiful! Like crystals. Mostly I'm just excited about the bulbs that I planted this last fall, and all this snow is making them happy so they can be beautiful this spring!

Capture some of the rain from the that down spout in gallon jugs and water your house plants with it . They will thank you for the drink of non chlorinated water.

The rainy season has always been a favorite of mine. I grew up in Arkansas and loved our rain when I was a child. Opening up my bedroom window and reading a book while listening and watching it was so comforting to me. So glad your friend turned your thinking around to see the beauty in every season. Praying the rain doesn't damage but refreshes and heals.

I live in Juneau, Alaska which is in a temperate rainforest and we had 88.31 inches of rain in 2022 so… 😂

Thank you Janey! Of coarse here in Manitoba we are under snow so the sound of the rain was beautiful! All our trees here are covered with rime ice. It’s similar to hoar frost but forms when moisture from fog settles and freezes on a cold surface. Hoar frost skips the moisture stage and only happens on a clear night. Anyway it is simply beautiful here right now, and I’m really appreciative of that treasure! I hope your basement will be fine! 🇨🇦

You should have put your rain boots on. The rain would have washed away all the mud besides then you would have had the proper footwear to play in the puddles!
“No rain no flowers”😊🌧️🌸 I absolutely love the rain but this “bomb cyclone” has been a bit scary. The wind was horrendous Thursday night. I lived in snow before and it is beautiful until it begins to melt and gets all dirty in the streets and berms lol but sitting in the house with your coffee watching it cover everything and the silence of it snowing are some great memories. Everything always looks so much more green and vibrant after the rain. Best time to take photos! My favorite anyway. I love watching the birds out in the rain when there’s a slight break in the storm! Your flowers look happy. 😊stay safe Janey

I live in Santa Barbara. We don't get rain often and I so appreciate it when we do and I know my garden will look so much more beautiful after a few days of good rain and that always makes me happy. Somehow they like rainwater better than the water from the hose, even with fertilizer
The rain is the most beautiful thing for those on a domestic well. Especially in the parched Central Valley where wells have gone dry. Gardening is not an option when your well is going dry…. Bring on the rain, God, we welcome as much as you want to give us!❤

At the beginning of december we have had two weeks of beautiful cold frosty weather here in the Netherlands , after that it started raining and it hasn’t stopped. I can relate to feeling discouraged by it, but then I try to find something beautiful to focus on. Today it is supposed to be dry and a little bit sunny, so I am going to try to get out in my garden and do some little jobs. I really miss gardening in the wintertime, and focus more on my houseplants instead. But there is nothing like being outside. Thank you for this beautiful and much needed video Janey. I love the sound of the rain. I use live in WA and loved to swim in the pool in the rain. I could not under why eople thought that was so odd. You get wet either way! You better learn to enjoy rain in WA. LOL
