  1. YAY Michele Stout & the gentleman from Big Bear!!! 👏😁
We tried cantaloupe & watermelon too. They started growing, but our German Shepherd/Husky mix ate the cantaloupe as well as one zucchini! LOL! The watermelon started growing, but then kind of stunted. The insects loved it! We just keep trying. 🙏🙏🙏 Thanks for the encouragement.

  2. Hi Robbie!! Sitting with you in your garden in the morning and enjoying all the birdies and their beautiful song, is just SO peaceful and calms the spirit. Thank you for sharing your treasures with all of us ☺️ !! Have a wonderful day!!

  3. Thank you for helping me to view my garden differently! I’m in northern Illinois, zone 5b and have the typical raised beds in a suburban back yard. When you’ve talked about microclimates, I realized that the front of my house faces south and the bottom half of the wall is brick. I’m planning on putting totes there and hope to get a longer growing season because of the wall heating up. Before watching your videos I never would have thought about growing anything other than flowers in the front of my house, because that’s just what everyone always does. I’ve been inspired by all of your ideas and am excited to try all kinds of new things with gardening. Thank you so much! ❤️

  4. FANTASTIC VIDEO! as usual Robbie. I was just watching a documentary on Amazon prime and I instantly thought of you. If your have amazon prime it is free to watch. It's call "Hummingbirds messengers of plants by David Attenborough. Robbie it is fantastic! I know your would love it. I never knew there were so many different types of hummingbirds. Ones with extra long beaks ones with curved beaks its just amazing. Hope you'll k

  6. Hi Robbie. I had such a rough day today. Sitting with you in your garden helped a lot. I've been seeding over the past few weeks and have been getting my bins together so that I can prepare them to plant. I live in the PNW and we've had so much rain lately ugggh. I want to get started, but it's just too wet. Please send me some sun rays 😁. Also I wanted to say thank you for this video and I'm so glad I found you. Great tips. I am enjoying this.

  7. I just love joining you and Kitty and the birds in the garden. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us as we all try to eat what we grow,

  8. Enjoyed the video! I agree with the subscriber who wrote to you. Your videos give me the feeling too that I can grow a garden, even at my age, be successful and be able to take care of myself. That means a lot. Also the birds are so pleasant. Thanks for sharing! 😊

  9. I'm so glad I found your channel when I first decided I wanted to container garden. I even tried a chair gardens. Keep up the good work ☺️

  10. I love sitting in the garden with my coffee in the morning.
I'm so looking forward to putting more solar powered water fountains in my garden this year.
So relaxing the trickle of water and bird watching 😊

  11. Has anyone used their own urine to fertilize plants? and is that a bad idea especially if I use it on my strawberries and parcel it out to my neighbors?……hahaha

  12. I watched your video about 3 hours ago and said Hmm quite a few times as I watced. Since that time I have been sitting out side looking at the new garden bed I started with the new planters and tubs already to be potted and planted. As I was sitting in chair visualizing where everything will go…I looked at my 3 tiered plant stands in an completely different way! Omg! I thought, I can put a big clear bag over the stand to protected the plants! Or wrap them in plastic! Oh and yes all my planters will be modeled after your double bucket system …I've gone back and watched that video again just to make sure I do it right!

  13. Thank you so much Robbie for answering right away and putting up a video. Thank you again for your enthusiasm and love for nature 🙏🏻❤️

  14. Robbie you're so good to all the birds!!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

  15. Love seeing those goldfinches frolicking in your fountains and enjoying the plants that have gone to seed, Robbie. Enjoying watching your videos, they are inspiring, and your cheerfulness and optimism are always refreshing.

  16. Hello Mr. Gary and Mrs. Robbie! Hope all is well! Thank you so much for your knowledge and different examples of Gardening Easy! I've said it before and I'll say it again you two have really inspired me to start to garden again and remain consistent for the past 4 years. Even if I fail I don't take it as a loss because I know that I can always throw that plant in a bucket or tote or sometimes even bury it in the flower bed. And I know that plant is going to help feed the worms and eventually turn into new soil. Thank you again for your time and help!! Enjoy the rest of your day!!

  17. My cantaloupe did that. I did get 2 from it. I think i waited too long to pick my watermelon. Also i had them sitting far away and did not give them the attention they needed vs my other garden plants. Moving the area for them this year and using raised beds so they dont just have my up keeping to depend on. They can get some of their needs out of being directly in ground.

  18. I looove your bird bath! Such a peaceful experience and thank you for the tips. I just started a tote yesterday and am using the compost in place method too ☺️

  19. Love your garden ♥️ do you get unwanted bugs in your containers? If so how do you remove/stop from killing your crop. What is your routine Thank you

  20. I am going to be honest with you. I am 50 years old & my parents have a garden & fruit trees on acres of land & have been doin this since I was a baby. I NEVER was interested in gardening until this past year or so so you are RIGHT when you say the interest is not there you wont do it. I am doing it now and learning from you and I want to say thanks. My parents are still doing the gardens & greenhouses but I do not go there much so its hard to learn from them now. Thanks for all you do! I have a 10 by 16 ft greenhouse hubby built we will be using for first time this year but I love the tote gardening. I did a 3 inderterminate tomatoes in 1 tote last year and it went awesome. thanks for these videos you definetly make a difference to all of us and are appreciated!

  21. You're exactly who I needed to find & at exactly the right time! Don't you just love when that happens?! You've got something rare & special here. With the knowledge you're sharing, gardening seems doable & much less intimidating. In the many gardening video's that I've watched I've been left feeling as though "I'm never going to be in this club!" Something was missing for me, not bad video's or anything, I just kept looking & I didn't know what that was exactly. Until one of your videos played & ended, I felt lifted, in mood & spirit. I'm clearly not the only subscriber with this opinion, I've read some comments. Your videos are fantastic. I'm learning how to grow food I can eat along with positive food for the soul & DIY solar bird baths & footage of beautiful birds & your lovely garden! I'm happy I found you! Thank you for sharing all that you do.

  22. SO good to know you don't grow cantaloupe. I've wanted to get thoughts from you on that. Now I have them. 😏
I am trying cantaloupe for the first time both in the ground and in an 18 gal tote with a two system. I am in the central valley of CA, just north of you. It seems the ground plants are doing better than the tote one to this point. The tote one is a single strip of leaves, where the ground plants have different branches in different directions.
After the comment from the person who grows tomatoes year round, I'm curious how to do that. Thanks for sharing.
