I was talking with hubby about breaking out the incubator and raising some laying hens and selling chickens. EVERY day on the radio someone or several call in wanting laying hens. Little spring side hustle 👍👍
Charkie Kirk had a great (short) video from a UK farmer. He said it's not the bird flu that's causing the problem. It's the stores – they aren't paying the farmers enough because of the rising costs to raise them. It's probably the same reason here in the states.
Yes this is one thing that is happening here. People are panicking here so they are buying up eggs fast. We bought 60 eggs because of it. We have eggs but people's favorites are out. We could go to the farms but most people here won't think about that. We have powdered eggs and liquid eggs in our freezer and pantry and I plan on making some dishes to freeze and refrigerate for future meals. The egg prices on most brands is crazy.
I checked on Amazon because I was thinking about ordering some more of the Augason farms dehydrated eggs but it cost $90+ for 72 servings so I ended up finding some of the Egg lands best 18 ct. For $8 so I picked up 2 cartons, I've been giving some serious thought to just buying some Hens & Chickens and calling it a day.
I do not believe it's a bird flu epidemic I believe it's a PCR test epidemic again if b***** was electricity the government would be a Powerhouse including the FDA
Study chickens and rules. You may have to go outlaw with them.😆. Preorder eggs is the way to go. Doubt Rural King and Tractor Supply will have enough chicks this year.
There are a few folks that are posting 'egg alternatives' for recipes such as using simple things l like baking soda/water to replace eggs in recipes. I mentioned the baking soda one because I tried it and it worked. Am I correct in thinking the Avian Flu thing is the main cause of this shortage? I know our agriculture authorities here have been begging home owners to take take bird feeders and bird baths to discourage the transmission of it in the wild bird population. BUT you know how it is, people don't want to listen and one person on our community site was 'fussing' that birds of prey were killing birds at her feeder; and she went 'karen' on us when we told her to get rid of the bird feeder for now; and really, if you KNOW you have hawks, why would you ring the dinner bell putting out a bird feeder anyway? LOL Anyhow, praying this issue with the egg layers is resolved finally!

I live in NY and the only time I've seen no eggs was a couple of months ago. Since then they don't seem to be stocked as heavily but they're there and no limits have been set.
All the eggs went with all the dead chickens

Here where I live there's a shortage on eggs there was no milk. I go to the Amish store. Eggs are $3 A dozen.. Sometimes you get double yoke… jackpot lol 😂

You can dehydrate raw eggs. Watch Raintree Country here on YouTube. I do and we use them all the time. They taste so much better than powdered. We have powdered too. And are now waterglassing fresh eggs from my daughters chickens. We live on a very wild and cold high snow area mountain. Hard on chickens. Why we raise chickens at my daughters down below the mountain. Right now our stores here in Southern Central Oregon have plenty eggs just expensive. 24.00 for 60 egg carton.
My daughter just bought us a box of eggs (5 dozen) today and the price has shot up from $7ish to $14!!

I usually buy the 60 count. Use to be around 10 dollars, then it went to $14, then $17 and now it's $22. I feed a family of 6. Kinda glad I had a humble childhood, stretching every bit of food and squeezing George Washington for all he's worth and then some. Love your channel and your energy!

Autumn My dear friend I am beginning to think this is just another plan for those in control of this to make more money by scaring people about an egg shortage. you run to the store and buy all these eggs at extravagant prices and they set back and count all your hard earned dollars and laugh all the way to the bank. Never let a good crisis go to waste. Yes we do have a problem I raise chickens and yes i sell some on the weekend I don't charge a lot for good fresh eggs. and when people find me they don't tell anyone it would be like telling people where your favorite fishing spot is at. but still they seek me out.
