  1. I am so sorry bout ur palm plants. I enjoy seeing ur precious cats, dogs, precious bird, cute turtle too. Hope ur Palm will thrive. I got 6 orange baby birds of paradise and 2 white birds of paradise. I have try 2 small palms plants, the palm plants dont thrive for me. I will not be buying no more palm plants.u have bunch indoor and outdoor beautiful plants! My name is Amy.

  2. It was so nice to see your fur and furless babies. Do you know how old Kolby is? What about your parrot? I know tortoise and parrots can live a VERY long time. ❄️💚🙃

  3. I sometimes have to fill my two plus gallon humidifier two to three times a day and I still can only get it up to about 30%, 40 % IF the wood stove isn’t going. ☹️❄️💚 🙃Again the things we do for the plants we love. ❄️💚🙃

  4. I can’t believe the weather we’re having, unseasonably warm for this time of year in my area. I sure hope the plants don’t get confused and I lose a bunch of them. And if it doesn’t get cold enough what’s going to happen with the bug population this spring, I fear it’s going to explode. ❄️💚🙃

  5. I’m so glad you posted a video today. A lot of YouTube creators don’t have much to make a video about this time of year. I can understand that ……but this is the worst time of year for me and I do so enjoy being entertained by watching videos. I know I’m being greedy or selfish but I get so depressed this time of year. I guess I could binge watch old videos, and I have some of yours, but as nosy as I am I like to see what everyone is currently up to. Ya I know I’m a brat, an old one but still a brat.❄️💚🙃

  6. Some, most of the plants that I have grow lights on are really putting on some growth. I have a Hawaiian pothos that’s reaching for the ceiling. It’s on a plank but it has out grown the plank. I’m going to have to figure someway to keep it climbing, the leaves are so big and I don’t want them getting smaller by leaving them hang. I also potted a crispy wave fern in a self watering pot and it is going to town as well.👏🏻❄️💚🙃

  7. I just mail ordered a dieffenbachia reflector and a dieffenbachia panther and I’m thinking they might do well in self watering pots. They fared pretty well being shipped and it hasn’t been nearly as cold as normal but I think that’s the end of mail order for a while. My rabbits foot fern is still alive but it’s sitting right next to the humidifier and it’s also putting on new growth. I’m thinking about fertilizing all of the plants that are actively growing right now, some of them have never been fertilzed😮 I know my bad and some of them are new plants but if their actively growing it should be alright? ❄️💚🙃

  8. I have seen another YouTube creators dieffenbachia reflector and it took my breathe away! I hope that some day mine will be as beautiful as hers. I’m THINKING about starting a collection of aglaonema, there are some very beautiful ones out there. And from what I’ve heard there are 100’s of varieties, and not so expensive, right up my alley.❄️💚🙃

  9. LOL 71F in January. Welcome to the south. hahaha tornado sirens in background
Took all the dead fronds off the sabal blackburniana last weekend, and trimmed the ones that had remaining green tissue. When I was removing the dead leaves I noticed the petioles are still green and look fine for the most part, so I left the petioles. Looks odd with just 5-6ft petioles sticking out of the ground, but I figure they are green, and can photosynthesize. Maybe that'll help it rebound here in a few weeks.
Chamaerops ended up having almost all of the fronds burned, so I took all of them off leaving only the emerging spears which are totally fine.
Butia only had tip burn surprisingly and should otherwise be good to go in a few weeks. I might trim the tips off.
A good heavy feed schedule this year will be needed to get the yard back in good shape! Its been a very hard winter here! Even natives were damaged.
The only palm I lost was the ButiaxJubaeaxSyagrus. complete spear pull including several fronds surrounding the spear. DEAD as a doorknob. Oh well.

  10. I’m thinking very seriously about expanding my collection of common houseplants, they are beautiful in their own way and often over looked. I’ll leave the more expensive harder to grow plants for other people to collect and maybe some day the”rare” houseplants will become more readily available and cheaper to purchase so if it dies I won’t be so heartbroken on many levels. ❄️💚🙃

  11. See you next time, be safe, stay healthy and hope to see you Saturday. Have a great rest of your week and give your fur and furless babies a howdy and cuddle from me, the crazy old lady ❄️💚🙃

  13. I'm dealing with cold damage on the orchids, it is a horror show out there. Several of the soft leaved orchids have completely defoliated, a couple of Dendrobium are dead, and more. Poor things got damaged by Ian and then had a massive cold snap to deal with and it was just a bit much for them. I'm going to be removing carcasses from the oak this spring and deciding if I want to mount new ones or just say screw it.

  14. We got negative 23 in my area and though my greenhouse is heated it wasn't enough and now my cavendish banana is wilted would this work to help it or would it need something different?

  15. I'd been meaning to ask about Colby, hadn't seen him in a while. Fingers crossed on both our palms recovering in the spring.

  16. Hey! I love your videos! You inspired me to grow several red spicata coconut palms on my south facing balcony here in Miami! Their all really thriving in big pots! Wanted to ask you how cold I should let it get before I bring them inside? I know you will know best.
