Our 23rd giveaway focuses on what we can do during the winter to prepare for the spring and summer gardening seasons. This is especially important in colder grow zones (like zone 5 Wisconsin) where we are not as easily able to garden outdoors during the winter.

In this video, we provide you with 10 different gardening related tasks you can do to survive the winter as a garden lover, and we think each of these will be helpful regardless of your growing zone.

As always, we recommend giving indoor gardening a try, and this video includes an updated tour of what is growing in our indoor garden space.

We also have a GreenStalk Coupon!

We hope you enjoy this video!

Today’s Giveaway features 2 winners!
One receives sweet potato slips from tatorman.com.
The other receives a Guten Gardening mug!

If you want to take part in the giveaways, comment on this video or one of our community posts from now until the next video comes out.

  1. Congratulations to the winners!
I survive by looking through seed catalogs over and over. Can't wait to get them all in and flip through them.

  2. I'll have to go see if you have any videos on growing chickpeas; those little plants you have caught my eye and I never thought to grow my own. I tend to evaluate what I have canned and stored by end of winter to determine what holes need replenishing.

  3. Congratulations to the winners! I'm going to plant spinach to try to grow indoors this weekend

  4. Waiting on onion seeds. Most other seedlings will start in February. My garden plan for the year is shaping up and I'm looking at some landscaping improvements.

  5. I won again! Thank you for your generosity! My voles really do love potatoes hahaha!
I'm glad to see your aphids are gone and the chickpea plants look very cool. I'm definitely going to work some of them into my landscape 🥰

  6. Congrats those voles aren’t innocent at all lol You got me interested growing indoors I have a grow tent ordered grow lights and fan I’m excited

  7. Congrats to the winners. I'm growing basil indoors. And I'm enjoying watching my son be excited about the sweet potato slips he's starting for the first time.

  8. Congratulations to the winners. It has been so unusually warm where I live I’m so itching for Spring. I have plants inside and will be starting some of my Spring veggies soon.

  9. Congratulations to the winners 🥳.
We have a small grow tent in the basement we are getting a bigger one.

  10. Congratulations to the winners! It’s so fun growing sweet potatoes!

    Thank you for watching, everyone!

  12. Good stuff, and thank you.
Curious why you do not use a cover crop in the bed, or least straw (something) to help retain moisture and keep the soil covered. Additionally, do you have worms in the bed?

  13. Congratulations to the winners on this SWEET prize.
Thanks for the tip on sage flowers I never thought to try them, I always let a few radishes go to flower love them in salads.

  14. Thanks for the reminder about onions. I need to get those, and leeks started soon!
not looking forward to all the cleanup that i've been putting off

  15. How much of what you have planted in your Greenstalks is for winter harvesting and how much is planted early for outside (eventual) harvest?

  16. Congratulations to the winners! Thanks for lots of great ideas for winter gardening activities. I’ve been reading through my seed catalogs and planning out what I want to grow in the upcoming growing season. I’ve also been organizing all of my gardening equipment and supplies so they’ll be ready this spring.

  17. I think it was different varieties of potato seeds that you planted. I hate seed starting indoors and having to harden them off. I have two boxes against my house that I start my seeds in outside. I usually just put a sheet over top of them but I’m going to buy little domes for them this year.

  18. im experimrenting indoors w different things now in nc.. in particular things that only need water.. and im gathering free supplies so i can build a vertical grow wall :)).. not just a tower. also, how to do hanging, multi-layered growth- using something simple w plastic bottles, etc.. so many ways.. not to cast away from this channel, but TAO USES RECYCLED ITEMS & layers them for growth outdoors, which i plan to apply indoors if i can
