  1. Wow!! That's a beautiful rosemary!!
Thanks for the tips- I got a rosemary Christmas tree this year, so hopefully I can keep it alive.. 🤭😁👍

  2. I think my rosemary got too hot in the coastal Texas drought last year, and then I tried to compensate by over-watering. I’ll try again this year.

  3. I am GREEEEN with envy for your rosemary shrub – no pun intended. I live in 5a and right now am looking out at several feet of snow, snow squalls and temps dropping to -33C/-27F tonight. Think I'm going to have to add rosemary to plants I bring in for the winter. Really appreciate your tips, especially the reminder to hold back the watering, and, planting in clay pots! I use my rosemary in Arabic and Greek dishes, and, as a cut 'flower' – love the fragrance.

  4. I never knew rosemary had beautiful flowers! Love using it for cooking. My plant died because I overwatered it. Won’t do that again!

  5. Brian great info. I’m in 9a love rosemary. How about a grow bags should be perfect? Will potting soil work?

  6. Our family absolutely loves using it when cooking potatoes and chicken. My wife also uses rosemary water to rinse her hair to help promote hair growth.

  7. I live in North GA in the mountains. I was able to grow a pretty large rosemary bush outside in the ground for 4 years. The temps dropped to 6F last month and she now looks like a large clump of twigs even though I wrapped her in a blanket.😭

  8. Now I just need to know if it's rosemary or thyme 🙈 I rescued something form a supermarket, it's in a plastic pot and I think I watered it twice, it's the healthiest plant out there right now 😱 fab vlog Brian see you next time 🥰

  9. I grow rosemary easily here in zone 9b. I use rosemary in pasta sauce, grilled steaks and always in soups and stews. There is an old wive’s tale that rosemary grows best in the garden of strong courageous women.

  10. I use rosemary twigs to flavour my RIBEYE steak sous vide style.
    OH me!! OH my!!!
Coat the ribeye with generous amounts of salt, pepper and garlic powder.
    Toss in bag with rosemary.
    Seal.
    Sous vide @ 135F for 2 hrs
    Ur welcome!

  11. I’m zone 7A or 7B. I have two plant happily growing my garden. They even have new growth. We even had frost and snow this winter.
They bloom later than yours does though. Beautiful 3’ shrub. I prune it quite short every year after blooming.

  12. Thank you very much. I was thinking about growing a rosemary plant here in Omaha, NE. I understand I have to grow it indoors 🙂

  13. Living in zone 10, when I saw the video title I wondered if it was a trick question. Really I've never had a rosemary plant die, and at my last house my rosemary plant was 18 years old with a fat gnarly trunk. I'm truly sorry for those who have trouble growing this wonderful herb!

  14. Zone 8 – It got so cold the other month that my 6 y/o well established in-ground Rosemary dropped every single leaf this year. I wasn't expecting that as I've never had any problems during winter here. It may have been all the rain. It has been very wet this winter. Sounds like I may have lost my Rosemary.

  15. I have a Rosemary plant for 7-8 years in Atlanta zone 7 and never bloomed and probably died in a unseasonal cold snap 18-20 degrees. Thanks for more excellent information!

  16. I'm in zone 7a and have 2 Rosemary plants in the ground that have successfully made through ever winter until the 16 degree Christmas artic blast. Thank goodness, the oldest plant, that is right outside the house seems to be making a comeback now! I can't tell you how glad I am because it's a big, beautiful bush and I love it!

  17. I planted my rosemary from one of those mini Christmas trees made from rosemary. It is now 5 feet high and wide. I have never fertilized it in the six years it has been growing. It's amazing and the bees love it!

  18. I have the best luck overwintering my rosemary when I cut it off and root it over the winter..(zone 6a sw Michigan)..i have never had luck bringing it inside in the pot and keeping it.

  19. I'm in 7b and I love rosemary with roasted meats and veggies. I planted mine in a herb/tea garden in the worst soil I think there is and although it doesn't get full sun all day it gets the hottest from noon until sundown. I never water it, have never fertilized it and it's doing great! I have covered in winter in the past but the bags always blew off. I haven't covered it this year and I think something has been munching on it! 🙁 Time will tell if it survives this year or not but something tells me it will! I'm taking cuttings to root this weekend just in case. I have it planted with my lavenders and thyme and oregano.

  20. Heh, I’m in 6b with an inch of freezing rain on the ground and 20 degrees tonight. I’m just hoping the big rosemary makes it through but if not I’ve got 4 baby propagations on the windowsill.
