The Nook On The Hill Is Not Your Average Small Home

The Nook On The Hill isn’t your average house. Far from it. It’s small in size, but huge in heart. There’s love built into the walls of this home. Memory of friends and family. For its builders and owners, Benj and Holly, it’s a place of sanctuary and healing.

This small house has everything. It’s filled with character and brilliant design. Spatially, it’s an efficient home which boasts all the best qualities of tiny homes and small space design in a slightly larger and grounded structure. It’s solar powered and built with many reclaimed materials. It’s filled with art, colour, and treasured handcrafted items.

Beyond all that though, this home has a character which extends out far beyond its brick and mortar. It tells a deep story of love, loss and perseverance.

We hope you enjoy the tour of this very special home.

  2. absolutely stunning & cracker of a small home 😍 you’ve given me so many ideas for my own cheers

  3. Beautiful house but with such a small space I don’t know why they wouldn’t put an entire top floor giving them more room and removing the balustrade in front of the window. I could not stand sleeping in a bed with a partner that is against the wall. I would have put the bed right in front of the window.

  4. I think the home looks like a church from the outside, which is a plus for me. God is real, & I pray that he blesses the couple featured here, as well as anyone else who happens to read this comment. 🙏🏿

  5. You opened show Victoria. Is that in Australia, Canada, or some other place¿. It would be nice to identify the location. It would be nice if they had a dog for company too. Beautiful house. I see in almost every small house that the stairway doesnt have a hand railing. All the little houses should put in a hand railing on the stairs. It good you put a hand railing in your stairs.

  6. Everything was so well designed and had a thoughtful touch. I love the texture and color of old brick and wood. The combination with metal and glass was well done.

  7. So sorry about both losing your Dads, so sad but that picture of the two of you either side of him looking out at the view is just lovely, what a lovely memory to have and I guess you could say he is built into the fabric of your house because he helped to build it xx

  8. Gorgeous! I really like all of the detail, different types of wood and brick. That staircase, wow! That had to be challenging. The landscaping is right up my alley. I love everything. Incredible, beautiful job!

  9. If you wanna be successful, you must take responsibility for your emotions, not place the blame on others. In addition to making you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life…
