12 Vertical Gardening Ideas using Flowering Vines and Climbers

Join Rosanne as she takes you around her garden and shows you how you can “elevate” your garden design using flowering vines and climbers. Plus, learn how she pairs vines with decorative arbors, trellises, and tuteurs, taking into account the needs of the climbing plant as well as the aesthetics of the garden. You will be introduced to all of her favorite climbing annuals and perennials.
Don’t miss this great introduction to vertical flower gardening!

  1. Thank you Lady, you did inspire me & gave me some great ideas. Your husband is very creative , I really liked the buck thorn trellis!

  2. I love how you start a lot of your plants from seed 🙂 I also love how you switch things up. Great video, thanks for sharing.

  3. So beautifully done. Never knew how pretty climbing annuals are, gives me some thought 🙂 Thank you….

  4. Yes. U have inspired me to grow my own plant 🪴 garden. Im a beginner so its a little difficult but ijust love seeing all these plants that could thrive vertically.. and your plants are beautiful..

  5. Looks like I'm a little behind…posted a year ago, but I just now found this video. Excellent video. So many beautiful options and some vines I had never heard of. Well done! I appreciate this content so much and learned a lot. I think I'm maxed out though and probably won't be experimenting with other vines. I have two wall trellis (largest with Wisteria "Amethyst Falls", smaller with Clematis "Jackmanii" and most recent a large wooden obelisk with Clematis "Guernsey Cream" on the front of my house.

  6. I miss these videos rosanne. Your garden has inspired me so much. I've learnt a lot from your videos and hope you show us some updates of your climbers when they are next in bloom. Sending love from the UK x

  7. I hear ya on the Buckthorn… I had a lot of it in my own yard and it bit back multiple times as I was removing it. It's not unlike getting finned by a catfish.. not fun.

  8. Great video. This year I'm starting to experiment growing different types of annual vines so this was really interesting.

  9. Not just a comment but a question. I Have a Palm tree the Died. But I don't want to remove the trunk about 3 1/2 feet high. I have taken the time to hollow out seal and now want to plant a colorful vine or draping colorful flowering vine or WHAT IS RECOMMENDED. I WANT IT TO EVENTUALLY COVER THE TRUNK CASCADING DOWN. THIS PROJECT IS NOT MUCH DIFFERENT THAN ANY REAL HANGING PLANT IDEA

  10. I am a zone 4b gardener and learning so much from your videos. I have a William Baffin climbing rose as well but not doing nearly as well as yours. I am curious about how you fertilize it and do you ever have a problem with black spot on your roses? I am about to give up on roses completely because of this problem. I also have problems with powdery mildew on my tall phlox and beebalm.
