Diamonds in the Garden – An Experiment | Gardening with Creekside

I am experimenting with diamonds in the garden, Pink Diamonds to be exact. Our friends at Walters Gardens and Proven Winners sent us three beautiful Pink Diamonds dicentra that claims to handle full sun conditions so I am putting this gorgeous bleeding heart to the test. I am planting the three Pink Diamonds in different growing conditions to see which one works best in my North Carolina zone 7b garden.

  1. 😂 sorry what did you say? Brenna was busy being cute and living her best life in the background. 😁💗🐕🐾 Oh my word those drone shots. Your property is so gorgeous 😍

  2. Hi Jenny, when you planted the 2nd one behind the tree what is the tall plant that was between you and the house, does it also get full shade all day? It is so pretty so wondering if I can put it in my zone 5b shade garden?

  3. Quick question….do all the types of organic soil amenders stink like crazy? I couldn’t believe how rotten the one I got was . I have a hard time finding espoma products where I live. Are they as nasty smelling as other brands?

  4. This will be a good test. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress/results. Thanks for sharing this. 💐 The drone footage is Ahhh… beautiful! Kinda feel like a bird looking down on all the beauty below!

  5. Going to be interesting trial! As much as I love PW, I have doubts for locations 1 and 3.
Thanks to Jerry for the gorgeous drone footage, especially for showing us the spring bulbs. 👍

  6. I reside in VA zone 7A or B. I am not far from your area. My question is I have deers and rabbits they love my hostas I can't even get to see them grow. I've sprayed repellent and does not work. Your hostas are beautiful and grown and I'm sure you also have deers and rabbits. What do you use to keep them away and keep it growing healthy? Thank you 💕 sincerely, Yvette

  7. Great guidance again on planting and potting. Cool work with the drone Mr. Jerry. Green grass and spring blooms make me want to head south away from Central Pennsylvania's snow and wind.

  8. I'll just say that I have a great test area if they would like to send plants my way 😉 I have absolutely horrid clay soil, high winds, high heat, and high humidity mid/late summer, coupled with exceptional drought. If it grows here, it can grow anywhere!

  9. I can tell you that my bleeding hearts are in full sun and every year they are beautiful and full. I’m in Westport Massachusetts zone 6b.
