I’m taking part in a collaboration as part of National Gardening Week 2019. The theme this year is Homegrown food. Edible Britain.

The collaboration was started by Erica of Erica’s Little Welsh Garden and Liz Zorab – Byther Farm YouTube channels.

  1. Great job on the collaboration this is the third video i've watched on it 😉. Tomatoes are looking lovely mine are no where near that big

  2. Nice work mate. I know I'm a bit of a greenie but food miles is also important for me. Why on earth are we all eating food transported (often for months) from the other side of the planet, with all the pollution and transport cost that entails? Why can't I just learn to eat with the seasons? It might actually make my diet more interesting. (Sorry, rant over now.)

  3. Nick, the benefits you went through are SPOT ON. Why more people dont grow their own is a mystery to me, I want to literally grab people and make them try it!

  4. Hi Nick
Great video on planting strawberries and tomatoes. You're right the best taste is a fresh strawberry and tomato. There really is nothing like fresh food you've grown yourself.
    Take care
    Becky

  5. Thanks for this video Nic. I never really understood what I was meant to do with the side shoots. Thanks for examining it, my friend was asking me the other day and I didn't know what to do so I can tell her now!

  6. Very encouraging video Nick! Your suggestion to get outside in nature is the best medicine available. Happy National Gardening Week! 🌱👩🏼‍🌾

  7. Great video Nick! Couldn’t agree more about the benefits of growing your own food. Spent a wonderful morning planting up my seedlings today. Felt wonderful!

  8. Ditto the other positive comments. After some time I finally have a garden to get back into, and the benefits are exactly as you explain. I might have added that joining the gardening community is a very positive experience. Videos such as yours are such a great example.

  9. Do you follow Deans Lost the Plot? He did a video a couple of days age where he planted the side shoots from tomato plants to make more plants.

  10. Good one Nick hope it gets people growing some veg. They don't know what they are missing do they. I agree with you every step of the way.

  11. I agree 100% with your reasons on why to grow your own food. Reason 4 for me is just how fun and rewarding it is….I cannot imagine a summer without a garden. ❤️🌻
