Tricking Vegetable Plants to Grow Early Outdoors & Irrigation Tubing as Vertical Container Garden

  1. Two excellent ideas! My husband is going to have to build me a storage building to hold all of my garden supplies if you keep coming up with these neat ideas lol 🤣 . You are so creative! Thank you! 😊

  2. I just got a couple of the largest hula hoops at DT as they can be cut to size/covered with tulle (or I have the green garden netting from the 99)

  3. Robbie I got my portable generator today. Mine didn’t have a solar panel in the box. Did you get one with yours or do I need to purchase one separately?

  4. I've actually successfully used a container just like that without vent holes. I just leave the cap off the top (most of the time).. Works to allow young starts to get rooted and established.

  5. I found Cake covers ay Dollar Tree, that I've been using as domes for seedlings. I'ne tried using 2, one over as a dome, and one under holding the seed starter mix and the seedlings.

  6. Hi Robbie I don't know how I found your videos but I love them and I've been watching you for the last three years. I was wondering if you have a way or can talk about how to protect your broccoli and cabbage from aphids and things like that will the tool work? Neem oil hasn't really worked for me and I have egg eggplant plant a couple of years ago that grew and grew but then the next thing I know it was covered with white aphids and white whiteflies. By the way I'm from Southern California to San Diego but I live in Vegas now

  7. I cut the bottoms off milk jugs and water bottles. With the caps on, I can use them to top poles, to protect us from accidentally poking ourselves with the pole ends. I also put them over tender plants and seedlings in winter. Most of the time I take the caps off. This winter, several of my baby avocados survived 25 deg nights that way with no damage. In previous, colder winters, I put the cap on. It warms up during the day and stays warm enough at night. This winter, I did that to all my salads and they look beautiful under there. By doing this this winter, I did not lose any young seedlings this winter. It also helps to hold in some moisture, which is usually needed in my desert zone.

To stake them, I have short bamboo sticks that I put inside or just outside the bottles/jugs, holding them upright against winds and rain.

  8. Love watching your hummers there! We're still having below freezing temps, so no hummers here. Hopefully it'll warm up to 40 degrees today. Not exactly T-shirt weather, but better than 27 degrees. I do have my daughter saving milk jugs for me. With 4 daughters, they go through a lot of milk.

  9. LOVE all your ideas! Do you have any suggestions re tomato hornworms? I have 5 tomatoes going…I suppose I should make the tulle things for them!!!!! Thanks!

  10. Brilliant as ever. Thank you, Robbie.
I learned about sprouting broccoli, dazzling blue kale, walking onions, tree collards,, more from you.
Please make a video on how to protect those tall plants from the dreaded white butterflies. Or maybe I should trim them to make short bushes?

  11. I can't wait for spring and warm weather so I can use your ideas in my small garden.Thank you have a great day

  12. I am at a loss for words. They were taken by Kathleen 😂 You are wonderful. God bless you ❤🙏

  13. You've out done your self again. Your my garden guru. Love how you think. Got my tubing today, now gathering my things.
