  1. Fantastic advice Pete. It was pouring rain here today in Ireland.Pete I pulled my back yesterday and gave you a mention on this Fridays video talking about a similar topic👌 Damien gardening channel👌

  2. nice to see you put the fact that it is not all sunshine and glam in this game Pete. and as you said (i think it was you) we have to hold to our guns with the price to cover the broken body we get doing this but as you also said you can get a day where you make nice money the sun is on you but the rest of the time it rains all the best Pete. Shane

  3. I would like to add something. Keeping yourself conditioned is a key part of manual labour. Pilates/yoga strength exercises and stretching is immensely important when getting to 40+. You probably will put off these aches and pains for a hood while by looking after your body. This dud did not have a knee pad down when on his knees, that in its self will tear your knees to pieces

  4. That’s why people only want to push a mower. I do most jobs in the garden but I’m lucky that I do the school run so it’s only a 6 hour working day.

  5. Just turned 50 and got myself a hernia to start of the season, 😮
I'm now wearing a hernia support and hopefully get through the season and then get it seen too. Can't afford to have it done at the moment and time off work, I'd loose customers. Your right about your body taking a hammering in this line of work👍🌲

  6. Another honest video Pete explaining the good, the bad and the 💩🚚😂
Yes defo need to focusing on taking things slow remember the season is a marathon not a sprint.
All the best with the weather, bring on the🌞 whilst I am writing this I can hear the 🌧 on the window🙄

  7. Good advice mate

I started full time gardening in my own business this year. I’m worried about ruining my body.

Some things I am now doing.

Ramp into van for mower so not lifting it in and out

More battery gear lighter less pollution, noise and vibration

    And yoga twice a week.

And not taking on the awkward jobs where you are doing very heavy lifting and straining etc

  8. Twenty years ago I was doing triathlon and running marathons, I couldn't run a bath now without getting out of breath. Too many years of spraying cars has taken its toll. The aches and pains will only get worse, so try and do some physio if you can, pain killers are ok as a temp fix, but they just mask the pain from increased damage.
    Peace as always brother

  9. Good advice, I started last year, feeling the pain, but loving it. Previously job was working in all weathers. Using tools and equipment to make life easier. Painkillers during the day also helps.
