It’s Day 2 of my 6 day mini garden series on small jobs to tackle over Easter, and I hope you’re enjoying them and that they give you some inspiration to get things done in your garden.
Today I am giving my mini Euonymus hedge it’s very first haircut – just across the tops, I’m not touching the sides at all. If you cut off the tips of plants, in most cases it makes the plant bushier, so that’s what I’m hoping.

Good morning
Must give brunneras a try🌷🌸😍
Great job Janette 🥰
Oh! my goodness, when l saw you with those big shears, l remembered once before when you gave a plant a really close shave ha! ha! but thankfully you didn't decapitate any. Although l'm sure some of them had two chops 🤭🐝🐞🦋🪴🪴🪴
Had to Google brunnera, I've seen them along the street, so that's what they are 😅. Very pretty. It"s raining here today, so I'll do some quick fixes in the house 😢 I don't like housework .Have a lovely day, Jeanette, see you tomorrow 😊
Jeanette, are your stepping stones just placed on top of your soil or have you had them properly laid? I love them but cant afford to have complete paths made in borders at the mo
Your shade garden is looking so nice you’ve a great sense of accent colors . How quickly plants are growing and giving definition to that space! Where did you find the mirrored gate ? I indpired to add that in my small space .
Hope you and Richard are doing a fun outing or two while you are on break!❤️
🌳✂️🌳GREAT JOB‼️🌳
Your garden is looking beautiful.😊.
Good morning my friend, there is always something to do in the garden . Always new ideas 😊. We do love brunera . I don’t have any yet .
Another good job achieved got sun and rain showers today
Gardeners are such patient people, aren’t we, to plant those tiny euonymus and clip them lightly in hopes they will bulk up and become what we see in our mind’s eye? And there’s something so satisfying in the sound of those sharp shears working their magic, with a little guidance from us. A lovely video as usual, Janette.
Good morning! I love brunera…first time I discovered it was at the nursery where my oldest daughter works when I flew out for a visit. I wanted it so badly & haven’t seen it for sale here. (Maybe it gets too hot here for it & that’s why I can’t find it here. Well I will continue to look for it.)
Gosh, it feels like they were planted longer than just last spring. Funny how time can seem to fly by, or drag on. They are a really nice replacement for the box you lost.
Your garden is looking so lovely!!
I have very little shade in my garden so not much room for shade loving plants, but I think brunnera is beautiful. Your garden is coming to life!
6 vids 6 days, big bite 😬😂
Deviation is always part of the plan 😮😅
Rain next 3 days, for me 😢
Nice clean gloves 🧤
Hi! Your garden is looking very nice! Enjoy your day! 😊
Watching ur videos have been so encouraging for me! It will b awhile before I can get out there but I’m looking forward to getting things done when I do! Thanks Janette for showing ur progress!💕
I planted some Sterling Silver brunnera in my shade garden last year. My daffodils and tulips just started poking their heads up in my zone 5b garden.
Seeing you at work reminds me that I need to get after trimming my little Euonymus hedge that edges the lawn. But I'll need to pull the blackberry seedlings first. This is a blackberry area and the pigeons spread the seeds like crazy so I always have to give the hedge a good cleanup before trimming. Looks like our weather is going to stabilise finally.
Enjoying watching your Easter series of videos.
Hi Janette, the brunneras are so pretty. The flowers are very much like my forget-me-nots but the brunnera leaves are nicer. I'll definitely be looking for some. So sad chopping off all the little new shoots from the euonymus but it'll be worth it in a few weeks when you have nice fat euonymus. See you soon, Bron xx
👋janette, I’m catching up on your vlogs🥳. I absolutely love brunera, they are so easy going. The Queen and ace of spades are my faves. I love the grouping that you did, they are a brunera family 😅.The euyonmous really have grown alot, they are happy campers👌 How many times have we all said that ‘ it shouldn’t take too long’ 😂😂😂said no gardener ever.
Oh that was interesting 🤔
