    Used to often help my mum with gardening. When most of the help is related to growing delicious veggies, it ain't half bad.
    Also using a scythe is actually really fun.

    My mom is a huge gardener. She grew up on a farm too. It’s great that she’s talented and loves being outdoors, but unfortunately she’s now taken it upon herself to garden MY yard too. Yep. I bought a house in 2020 and my mom comes over unannounced and gardens my backyard.

    I don’t know what to do about it honestly.

    Mostly it’s okay but I have severe allergic reaction to any poison plants. Poison ivy, I’ve had to go to urgent care after being exposed before. And had horrible blisters all over the affected area—for weeks afterwards.

    Anyways, that happened again for the first time in years because I felt guilty with my mom gardening my yard last year. Apparently we encountered some poison ivy and I ran inside and washed like crazy. I didn’t end up in urgent care this time but had the blisters for weeks that were very painful.

    It’s hard to explain but I seriously wear long sleeves, long pants, gloves—the works. But it doesn’t matter. If I get exposed at all it’s horrible.

    I kept telling my mom before this second time I wanted to hire a gardener. But same as the skit she kept saying, oh, too expensive.

    I guarantee I paid more money on lotions and such to treat my blisters than it would have cost to hire a gardener.

    Anyways sorry just venting.

    The 14 hour estimate is spot on, and we wont have even finished pulling all the weeds in that time.

    This very similar to what me and brother have to go through whenever our dad makes us do construction, repairs, and church work.
