  1. Josh was our favorite singer at the Hive Life conference. Great video! Thanks for sharing this information.

  2. What’s your trick to mixing your feed in that barrel,,, I’m thinking of building one and put an old trolling motor in it to use as a mixer, but just curious on your technique.

    Thanks
    Matt

  3. How do you keep the feed from settling down? Is there a mixer inside? My jars when they sit for a week they tend to settle down at the bottoms

  4. Very helpful and informative. Thanks for all the effort you to through to put good content out. Josh sure talks fast for a fella from Tennessee.😀

  5. That jar at the beginning of your movie looks like one of the old gallon jars with a 70mm opening, rather than 1/2 gallon

  6. Very nice little set up, something this size would/will work great for me. Thank you two/three very much for this video.👍Y'all have a wonderful day.
I wonder if you could add a pressure regulator so that you can adjust the final output pressure.

  7. Another tip with the magnets he used , throw one in your pocket, instant hive tool holder and don't have to dig in pocket or holsters. Sticks to outside of pants

  8. I really like the set up , I was thinking of moving up to something better, I am trying to grow to 50 hives this summer and gonna need something better than the 5 gal pal and watering can I'm using . Does Jose have a channel to subscribe too?

  9. I recognize that banjo picker from Hive Life! 😂 Thanks for putting together this awesome video on the relatively inexpensive pump feeding system for our bees.

  10. Great video. Our bees have been swarming for a couple of weeks now and are putting up honey already. SML BEEs / SWVA

  11. I appreciate you guys showing this. I’m at the point I’ve got to move to a setup like this. I have too many 5 gallon buckets to lug around.

  12. RV pumps do come with a 35psi shutoff switch. I have a vey similar setup. How is he mixing the syrup? Trolling motor or paint stirring drill attachment? I to am struggling with a good reel setup and the best way to mix /transfer the 1to1 into the barrel.

  13. Being in the pickle 🥒 capital we get them 55 gallon black plastic drums .. two peace lids screw on lids . You could roll out the back of the truck not lose a drop .. very cheap like 8 bucks each … that would work great with that system.. mix it I use rain water sugar pack of chicken vitamins and electric trolling motor. My well water to hard for feed .. hopefully don't need to feed they are wall to wall brood with box of goldenrod honey on top plenty heavy.. hopefully this freaky heat wave doesn't kill the dandelion flow. 12 days will have turn over need to get that mite treatment in before they hatch .

  14. That's a very smooth feeding system indeed! Josh has a great presentation voice, he should try singing someday! We get those barrels from Welch's for fifty cents each 🙂 Looks like a 5 gpm flow. Great watching you two.

  15. Josh, do you mix your sugar syrup with this setup or with something else and then distribute with this system, which I like. Thanks.

  16. Hive beetles get in those pro feeders and lay eggs and the larvea float and crawl out into the hive. You have no idea what your in for with those.

  17. Great idea ..I too am feeding my small 6 hive operation all I can give them …plans to increase exponentially over the next couple years .. thanks for the 💡

  18. hi, we do this system in greece many years. we have roof feeders and a hole with plastic cup at the top and we dont have to smoke the hive at all. i have 400 hives and it saves me a lot of time

  19. Suggestion
Strap around the tank , locking the hook straps to the truck deck forward of the barrel
Then same again with the hook straps to the deck of the truck behind the barrel

I used to cart liquid filled barrels for our company
No spills involved at any time ( strap the barrel forwards , strap the barrel backwards )
    I hope this helps

  20. Love these types of videos. Very informative and pertaining to applied beekeeping methods. This is how one scales up from the hobbyist level to the Side-liner Level.

  21. I've got a question for you I have three hives and one has a really amazing gentle carni queen that I love and want to carry on here genetics in my small bee yard. I'm wondering is it worth buying grafting tools to just make one queen or two? Or should I just let them raise their own in a walk away split with eggs from the mother hive. Thanks!
