  2. Did you start your broccoli from seed? I don't have a lot of luck with broccoli. Your purple broccoli is gorgeous! Thanks again for your wonderful videos

  3. I got lucky and had broccoli plant last two years then it died.

  4. Yay I bought some purple broccoli and was wondering what it looks and here was the video Awesome, can't wait to grow it. I also received purple cauliflower so excited ❤

  5. What an amazing looking plant!! When the time comes for you to do cuttings, could you make a video on it? You are chalk full of information, thank you so much for all you share 💚💐

  6. Purple sprouting broccoli is my favorite. We live in Idaho. I planted seedlings in August and it wintered over in 10 degrees. PSB is a staple for the hunger gap. 1st hearing about it from Charles Downing. I suggest knowing your planting zone and doing a smig of research and you will have a wonderful experiment in April/May the following season.

  7. Sounds like it's NOT something I could plant in MT. Far as weather goes, we're cold & windy all over again. I'm crying for my plants. ); ~ Covah

  8. I found out about purple sprouting broccoli from you, Robbie.
Mine got devastated by the white butterflies last summer but it survived and has bounced back with the cold weather. I have two cuttings from it and I'm glad to find out not to get anymore cuttings until it has finished sprouting.

  9. It looks like a sprouting type broccoli, vs the normal gathered floret broccoli. I have green sprouting broccoli and I think some kind of Asian broccoli that also flowers like the sprouting broccoli type. I also have a purplish sprouting broccoli type but it is not as purple as yours. I think maybe it is a hybrid or it could be our harsh sun. In my area, our flowering brassicas are pretty much done. I noticed today one in a shady location that still has some edible florets, but most of them, I picked them last month. They were deliciously tender.

  10. Well, here's egg on MY face. I never knew Broccoli leaves were edible! Yet, I use to laugh at people that didn't know beet leaves were. I learn so very much from each of your videos. Even your walkabouts teach me about how you plant certain veggies together. Wish we could click the like button on your videos more than once because I usually watch each video 2+ more times to keep from missing your important tips. Thanks, Robbie and Gary, for educational gardening.

  11. This plant is so beautiful! I have the seeds, havent started any because I wasnt sure what to do with it, now I know! 13. That's some beautiful broccoli, I'm terrible at growing broccoli, but maybe i will try again.

  14. My goodness I didn’t know that! I want broccoli but only few cuz it gives me gas and heartburn 😬👩‍🌾 so as my husband, thanks for this great wonderful tips Robbie, but if I can use the leaves for stir fry that’s also great. ♥️😊👩‍🌾👍 thank you thank you thank you

  15. Thanks Robbie, question what happens to the plant while not producing? Does the plant die, and you start from zero? Or does it keep coming each year?

  16. Such a beautiful plant. I have some I need to up pot. zone 5b so things are still chilly and some of the ground is frozen. BTW a thank you for the heads up on the hummingbirds. I got the feeders cleaned and thought I heard one this morning. Filled the feeder and hung it in the apple tree sure enough I had the first little one stop for a drink. My mother’s Native American name is Little Hummingbird and she passed in 2005, they are very special to my family and we consider them “The Messinger”.
