Walnut
You've uploaded this video before 🤔🤔 I guess you took it down an re-uploaded it??
I am assuming that my option would be to modern for you, but what about staining the slab and skipping the flooring?
I look forward to keeping up with your home renovations. Thank you take care
Since your wall is light, go for the walnut . The oak is kind of boring in the long run. The darkest tone is high maintenance as far as cleaning is concern. Just my own opinion base on experience. 😊
lol I was very confused when I started hearing the voice narrator
I like the walnut! I cannott waitt to see what you will do with the space! I forgot but did you end up finding a wall colour?
The walnut will have different tones to it, is a solid rich wood and will bring out the colors in your other woods. The red oak color is not in style anymore and the grain would look way too busy on the floors ..In your office built in shelving just like your other office, just not arched would look beautiful .
Thank you for bringing the true mid-century character back to this house! Btw, I love the pants you're wearing at 12:07 (the green ones). Where did you get them? They look comfy and stylish! Love it all!
The honey looks like golden oak which I think you will regret. It’s seldom used at all in the design world today.
The walnut wood is a great option, it’s offers a slight contrast with still being cohesive at the same time. The honey color is a little too similar to the existing furniture, in my opinion. You have great taste and really enjoy watching your videos so can’t wait to see your decision.
Definitely the walnut. The undertones and grain is very chic. I like the darker aspect too since your tones tend to brighten up a space a lot.
The floor, wall and ceiling are Too matchy …
You're gonna end up switching out your furniture because it's gonna all be too warm. I mean there won't be enough contrast. Think about keeping one dark either the floor or the furniture.
Arvin, Rabbit air purifiers in my home has been a game changer in managing my asthma. You won’t believe how gross the filters are when you change them.
The bathroom mirrors with the black look so cheap, I can’t wait to see what you do with it, if it were me, I might do an oval mirror 😊
Closet storage is important. The Japanese doors look awesome!
💃💃I got you, I got you 💃💃 Arvin, I like dark wood. There are flooring with different tones. If you use a light wood, why not incorporate dark wood, maybe as a border? I think warm tones is so inviting, like entry way. Linen texture wall paper would be great for bathroom. A batton wall?
Strong opinions, here: Walnut floor. Brutalist tile / sculpture on fireplace. :?)
I get a little serotonin boost every time I see you dance at the beginning of your videos
Tile or Terrazzo. With the stained wood ceilings and original wood walls and adding yet another wood element in the flooring is way too much wood. The stained wood ceilings & wood flooring will compress your visual space immensely! If your ceilings were left white then it would have worked.
Go MCM linoleum flooring.
I agree with your floor choice
I can't believe that you did this pharmaceutical ad on your channel!
That's disgusting.
Especially since you're not even using the medicine yourself!! 😱
How much did they pay you for that? I hope it was a lot of money because that was the price of your soul.
Maple has very minimal grain, which in my opinion, would look sleeker than the grain you get out of Oak. Supposedly, it stains well also.
❤❤❤❤YOU ARVIN X.
I would love to see if you own any clutter and if so, how you hide it. I mean, we all have paperwork, stationary, charging cables etc. How do you organise and hide that stuff? I feel like that is what stands in the way of me having a nice space.
I stay in an old mid century high-rise apartment, built by mies van der rhoe, & in my corner unit they put in espresso engineered hardwood flooring, I had the same feelings was well. The updates didn’t match with the bones of the building, I’m doing a lot of compensating with rugs too even out the mood in the space lol. Im no interior designer but I think the two you choose on the left would definitely be better option. Especially the wood tone in the middle if you should continue too have entire ceiling be exposed, In my opinion I think it will create a natural and a more authentic mid century vibe to the space overall👏🏾.
Your current floors is really nice. Just opinion. Looks better than those 3 samples.
IMO. Light color is timeless. BTW, I like your vest ,where did you get it?
Walnut looks lovely
I would go with the walnut. I don't think it's too dark at all. It feels cozy yet sophisticated. It will also give a good contrast to your furniture so your beautiful furniture doesn't get lost with a floor that matches it.
Hi,
I love the small sample because then you can pick lighter pieces and darker to warm up your space. However I’m sure which ever one you pick will be perfect:)
Actually I love the black beams and trim.
Just a thought for you to consider. Is a grass cloth Shoji door a good idea for somebody with asthma? Shoji doors are stunning but I'm just talking about the type of fabric. They trap dust and depending on the cloth are very hard to clean. Calif. is dry so mold may not be an issue but also something to consider.
The wood grain on the floor means so much. The grain on the thinner mid-range color sample is gorgeous. Can that wood be done in a more honey tone? That would be my first choice.
We are going through a similar process in our home (in Australia) and with our mix of wood tones in different furniture pieces we're going with a multi-tonal faux wood (vinyl plank) flooring – something like a spotted gum which will pair well with the pieces we have, as they will pick up the multiple tones in the flooring choice. It leaves the choice of furnishings more diverse, so it will still work for future owners/tenants who may have all dark furniture, or lighter scandi style wooden furniture. I think you're definitely on the right track and whichever you select will be amazing.
Walnut hands down. It’s so mid century.
That walnut is so beautiful!! 😍
