  1. Just curious… why treat the salvia as an annual? Is it so you can change up the look every year?

  2. One thing I've learned on here is to not be afraid to take plants out or move them if they don't look like you envisioned them. I used to worship 3 dollar plants, but I now am much happier instead of frustrated.

  3. How do you keep your Blue Horizon Ageratum short and stocky?
I grew mine from seed last year and they were HUGE and towered over everything else.

  4. Everything I plant is pollination friendly from salvia to Pentas butterfly bush my CUPHIA coming back lots more stuff been in yard every day for 5 hours a day I’m trying to get a head of heat gorgeous low humidity weather now on gulf coast so I will be a garden nutcase for next month or so !!! Lol 😅

  5. I applaud the way you mix & mingle a large variety of annuals. Repeats without redundancies.

Beautiful … I know the pollinators will appreciate your artistry as they flit and flurry about adding the mobile dimension to the canvas.

  6. Holy Moly, I laughed out loud with you, Jim! Your channel is so informative, and I love that you demonstrate how to plant and explain your reasoning. I really enjoy seeing you and Stef gardening together! She is delightful and so knowledgeable, too. Linda

  7. Bought two different types of milkweed,New Jersey Tea bush,a bunch of parsley, agastache. All about food and habitat for the bees and butterflies. ❤

  8. Jim I always enjoy watching your channel. I love your garden style and you ALWAYS have such great information. Thank you 😊

  9. 🌞🌻🐝 Yes, zinnias, sunflowers, and basil (let to flower) are go-tos in my annual beds. I cannot wait for the buzz of Summer!

  10. Jim those raspberry ripple zinnias were my favorite last year in your garden. They were so beautiful. Your zinnias were what inspired my husband to get some Aztec sunset zinnias for our garden this year. I told you recently I am not getting very good germination indoors. I’m going to seed outside instead and hope for the best.

  11. Following your advice starting zinnia zahara and celosia from seed. Thank you so much for all the information!

  12. I have a house full of annuals that I started from seed, still waiting for it to warm up here in Michigan. Have you tried Magellan Zinnias from seed, a bit more pricey but they have big flowers on small plants….very showy. I also grow the Zahara Zinnias, beautiful! Thanks

  13. I can't wait to see them grow and flower! And nice to see beauty on a budget! Not everyone can spend a fortune on pregrown annuals. You've proved you don't have to! Thanks!

  14. Where are you getting your compost from and what kind? I’m in the Raleigh area as well. Thanks!

  15. Jim, when you say you add compost to your beds, what are you referring to? I’m in Jax Fl, zone 9a.

  16. Quick fire hydrangeas are incredible for a great variety of pollinators. Mine are covered every year. Zone 6b

  17. how exciting! Gosh that looks so beautiful! I want to do a border just like that now!

  18. I like to mix in oregano, dill, & thyme, pollinators seem to really enjoy those. Rn my thyme is blooming & it's a favorite. Can't wait to see how your bed looks this year!

  19. Hi from Australia, and thank you for sharing your garden with us. I adore all of the plants you chose to plant. Do the Tower series of Asters require cold stratification to germinate the seeds? I live in the subtropics, probably US Zone 9. 🌴🌼🌷🌳

  20. My pansies were stunted this year too. They look good right now though. However, because of this channel, I planted snapdragons for the first time last fall. In the last two weeks they have really been showing off. It looks nice because for winter I like cool tones, so I go for purple/blue/white pansies/viola. The snaps are yellow and peach color in color, so it is a nice mix for spring, especially since the daffodils have finished.
