Vegetable Gardening

This doesn’t look good! Keep an eye on your tomatoes!

There are always challenges, especially this time of year with our gardens to include weather, wind, hail, and diseases. Damp, moist environments, promote diseases to most of our plants. Be sure and keep an eye out for these symptoms and signs. Also, keep an eye out for severe weather today.

  1. Love the hat!
Prayers for y'all today and tomorrow.
It has been storming off and on all night in Wichita Falls and Iowa park where I live. This morning lots of heavy rain a little hail Lots of thunder and lightning.

  2. Thanks, Jill! Imagine my surprise when I heard..round 2, today. OK! Might not get a drop, as we always "expect"…or get our hiney's handed to us on a platter, like we did, yesterday. I was certainly humbled on this one! We can't half prepare, it's do it or don't. I can't hope for the best now, the damage is done. What I can do, is pay attention and do what I KNEW I needed to do before this did happen. This one is on me for not doing what I could have. We can't stop the storms, but, if we know there is something we can do..We should do it. As always, praying for everyone's safety!

  3. We are blowing a fan across our tomatoe plants during these days. Almost thinking of adding another fan. Prayers for your safety. They are calling for it to hit us overnight. So sad for your friend in Orlando. It breaks my heart for her.

  4. There is nothing better than A fresh tomato. We are having rain and thunderstorm. now

  5. We received 2 inches rain in about 40 minutes. It dumped. I’m doing tomatoes in mineral tubs this year. They are standing in water this morning. Small hail this morning with large hail expected later this afternoon. I’m north of you near Red River. We will take all the prayers we can get.

  6. Prayers for you and your family Jill❤good plan for the day…love you too….God is good to you….amen

  7. We were hit by the F3 in October 2019 in Dallas. We luckily we didn’t take a direct hit, so we only had 2 windows broken by flying debris and an uprooted tree in the yard. We were very lucky! Tornadoes are no joke. Tip: if your ears pop, it is definitely a tornado and not just wind/hail. Praying for us all in the North Texas area!

2 REASONS/OPINIONS WHY THE SUPER CELLS ARE GETTING WORSE… TOO MUCH WEATHER WARFARE/ RUN BT EVIL MEN…AND WE ARE IN A GSM, SOME SAY A SUPER GSM. I BELIEVE GOD WILL PROTECT THOSE WITH HIGH TUNNELS AND PASS OVER YOU.

  12. I hope you stay safe and those tomatoes look so good. I haven't started my garden yet its started going back to freezing temp so I haven't put anything out yet.

  13. Also, is this a smaller high tunnel? I’ve seen your large one? I have a 16×28 and Would love one more

  14. Hey Jill we've been getting real nice rain, four inches in the last few days. Prayers to KP. Lot's of red on the radar in your area so be careful. Heavy storms coming here to central Texas around 9pm. Keep us posted, God Bless. Mike

  15. I pray for the safety of everyone in the path of these storms. Its 1:15 here in Collin county and the temp is down to 54 with some on and off rain. Don't know if that's a good or bad set up for later.

  16. We had a good rain this morning which was desperately needed. Suppose to have more tonight. So glad it didn't turn into really bad weather. We have more coming later today and I'm not complaining about one drop. We will be praying for rain this summer.

  17. I just watched several of the weather YT channels and there is some serious weather forecast. Here in Virginia we have rain forecast Friday – Sunday. Like you, I'll take the rain, but leave the "serious" stuff out. Last year 2 thunder boomers wrecked my corn, flattened to the ground. Everyone stay weather aware.

  18. The worst weather missed us North of Ft. Worth, but looked like it hit you straight on. Praying for y'all. Blessings

  19. We had bad storms Saturday night and I lost cell phone and Internet service. Noticed Sunday morning no service. It is Wednesday evening about 7 p.m. and I finally have service again. Here in the Texas Hill Country we are under a tornado watch until 1 so far. Hopefully don't lose service again.

  20. What spray do buy for brown spot on tomatoes. I have it now on lower half. YIKES. and how often do you spray to get it under control?

  21. Hi Jill! My husband and I are totally new at gardening, and it seems our potatoes have leaf spot fungus. Do you have a recommendation for something organic? We cut the leaves and disposed of them and treating our cutting sheers, but wondering if there is more we can do.
