Planting Corn with My Dad 🌽| Grow Your Own Food

#plantingvegetables #growyourownfood #gardeningtips

If you’re interested in learning how to plant corn, my 79 year old dad could teach ya a thing or two! The first round of corn planted in this field didn’t take – too much rain – but the second time will be the charm. This time we’re planting some sweet, delicious Bodacious corn.

Join Dad & me as we spend the day tilling everything up with the #Kubota tractor, plowing the field (using a really cool antique hand plow), and then #plantingseeds. Pro tip: properly covering your seeds is a big key to success – more on that around the 18:15 mark.

Talk about some plant therapy – it’s a beautiful day to get your hands dirty!

  1. Oh your Daddy just made me reminisce back to the days helping my grand parents. The martin boxes. Omgosh 😒😊

  2. This brings back great memories of planting corn with my daddy. He's been gone for about 2 years now. My boy's run his old Kubota tractor now. Cherish every moment God gives you with your sweet dad. Thank you for sharing and God bless!

  3. Also, it never matters how old I am, my parents were always telling me how to do things. Lol I'm 51 and a mama of 3, my sweet mama still tells me how to cook and drive. Hahaha πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚

  4. When I was in 2nd grade, my baby brother was born. I offered to babysit instead of working the garden. Dad said the rows would be wide enough for a stroller. πŸ˜‚ Oh, Dad!! How I miss taking gardening with Dad. Thanks for sharing yours with me today.

  5. Weather was PERFECT here in Aiken County. My son came for a visit and we shaped up lots of things in the yard! That corn field brings back many childhood memories of planting with my Granddaddy

  6. Your dad is precious, Ryan. You are so fortunate to have him! (About that hand plow…Father's Day is soon here!)

  7. What a nice time to spend with your dad. I learn so much from your videos regarding plants and planting, thank you!
