Front Yard Garden

Tidying up and creating a sweet pea teepee & a glimpse into my back garden wildlife

Join me in this week’s cottage garden vlog, as I start by tidying up my lawn and showing you what’s growing in my garden beds. I show you how to make a teepee for your sweet peas. Using simple materials like bamboo sticks and garden twine, I create a beautiful structure that adds charm to my garden and provides a home for my sweet peas to grow.
As I work in my garden, I am joined by some of the wildlife that visits my garden. You’ll get to see wild robins and blackbirds feasting on the birdseed from my chair. It’s always a delight to watch them as they go about their daily routine.

So, if you’re looking for some gardening inspiration and want to witness the beauty of nature in action, then this video is for you.

  1. I hear from a gal who often rescues bird babies fallen out of nests that it does not affect anything to touch them. That is an old wives tale.

  2. Garden is looking good. Can't wait to see the sweet peas all grown and beautiful. Lots of playful birds in the garden will be eating out of your hand in no time. Yes our weather is crazy we had a cold snap and rain. Have a great week.

  3. Here in Florida where I live on the gulf side the weather has been warm and mild but NO rain for months and that un-usually dry for us. So our water bills have been very high to keep our yards watered. As always love your home and garden. Thanks for sharing it with us. ❤

  4. Hello Catherine lovely to watch your channel, such a lovely garden. I love watching the birds, the black bird was bathing for ages wasn't Hello? How to you get on with your cat with the birds, I have a cat and am not sure if I can put a bird table ECT, as I'm worried about the cat getting them 🤔

  7. It’s been unseasonably cold here in Vancouver, Canada too! This will be the first year I won’t be doing any gardening because on May 1st I will begin full time van life. I will really miss the garden, but this 71 year old is excited for her new chapter. Watching you in your garden is such a pleasure…it’s a lovely oasis! 🚐🇨🇦❤️🌷

  8. And I have a couple of teepees to make myself. I have plenty of wood to work with. Lots of broken trees and branches to clean up after a bad snow storm in December.

  9. May I just say how enchanting you are? New subscriber here, and many more to you, is my only wish.

Long time video viewer, first time contact. I am hoping you can tell me how/where I can buy an autographed copy of your book when I am in Dublin next week. Acquiring it in person while I am there is right up there for seeing the Book of Kells for me 🙂

Any suggestions or information you can send along is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Robyn~

  15. Your garden is looking so lush and lively! So sweet to have nesting birds nearby raising their little family. Really enjoyed this video, thanks. I love a good windy day, blows out all the cobwebs and makes you feel alive!
Still cool here on the west coast of Canada, my tulips are a few weeks from blooming but the hyacinths and daffodils are giving me joy with their pops of colour. Just planted my potatoes and cleaned up the garden. I bought a few more snapdragons today for my pots by the front door, they are so cheerful. Hope your week is going well.

  16. Oh I really hope you get the Ireland am gig. You would be a breath of fresh air 🤞🙏🏻🤞🙏🏻

  17. Hi Catherine! I live in the Texas Hill Country and deal with lots of bedrock. So, I'm doing raised bed gardening mostly. Still working on it! One day I'll get it to the point where your garden is at! I do have Cardinals and Hummingbirds visiting me so that makes me very happy! Blessings.

  18. The tulips are still delightful, Catherine just enchanting. I can't wait to see some little apples, (are the edible or just decorative?). I hope edible!
