Mesembs

Muiria hortenseae update

So far I’ve only lost one seedling. Growth seems to have stalled, which isn’t unusual in my experience. Plants seem to go through stages of growth and rest, so I’m hoping they’re just resting šŸ˜… Trying to find the right balance of moist soil but non-humid surroundings has been challenging, but I think they’re big enough that a short dry spell doesn’t immediately kill them lol

  1. that’s amazing! it’s crazy that they look just like conophytum maughanii at this stage

I’ve been eyeing these seeds for ages, but the price tag has been stopping me haha are these any harder to grow from seed than other mesembs?

Whoah, cool! Thank you for sharing – Iā€™ve just started some Muiria myself and mine are only about two weeks old at this point. When do they get their first rest period?

What is that soil composition? It doesn’t look like straight potting soil. As a noob, I thought that’s what you used for seedlings until they were ready to be transplanted. Am I wrong? I’ve got some Conophytum Pageae seeds I’m going to start soon and I wanna make sure I get it right.
