This Homemade Garden Tool Makes Planting Veggies Easy!



In today’s 2 minute garden tip, I share a homemade garden tool that makes planting veggies easy! This little DIY gardening tool will make planting vegetables in your garden a snap, and you can make it yourself for only about $1. It saves me lots of time transplanting vegetables and starting seeds in my raised garden beds!

  1. Only thing with Furring strips is they tend to not be very straight. Other than that I like this idea.

  2. I appreciate the homemade, exactly to your needs. I wonder if it's cheaper than a yardstick and ruler? Especially if quality is an issue.

  3. I use a similar method to direct seed lettuce and other shallow seeded row crops. I just take my strip set it up just like you had it, then push an edge into the soil a little, slide it off a hair, sow my seed in that small through and then pull the soil back over. I suppose if I put some hash marks on mine that would help me for sowing corn and other more distantly spaced crops. Thanks for the tip

  4. I have another tip: measure the distance between the tip of your thumb and index finger (or middle finger) when stretched out. In my case I always know what 7 (or 8) inches are…

  5. You should do a video on square foot gardening! I've seen others do it with great success, not sure if you can with your humitiy and all
