Mowing with Draft Horses!!//Planting Sweet Corn in the Garden#487 #2

Today on the farm, take a trip back in time to before Lady’s filly was born! See an update on the gutter system, watch as Jim uses the horses to mow the roadsides and fields, and come along as Jim and Brenda work together to plant sweet corn in the garden.

Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

  1. Do you always cut the backswath right away? I always leave it till the end, it lets the grass spring back a bit and gives me room to turn, otherwise I find it tight to turn to cut the backswath without tramping on hay.

  2. Happy birthday madame! 🥳🥳🥳 Bree is a suitable name, as another viewer has suggested, duchess would also be fitting, ultimately it’s up to you two. As an aspiring horseman, love your videos. 👍✌️

  3. Poor Bill. I could see his ribs when he was backing up to the mower.

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRENDA, NOT SURE WHEN YOURS IS/WAS. MINE IS TODAY MAY 29. I THINK YOU SHOULD NANE THE DARLING FILLY BREN. AFTER YOU!!

  5. Happiest birthday Brenda. Loved the fact that y’all are more than friends lol that was funny. Jim you made a funny. I like Bree for the filly’s name also. I’m so happy she’s here and healthy.

  6. Happy birthday to you 🎂 Brenda have a good day , well the hay season on Jim l watch a few other shows as well there all cutting hay , the water tank works good , the horses 🐎 will love nice fresh rain water 💧 ok keep us updated guys God bless 🙌

  7. Skilful handling with the mower Jim. I loved mowing but I had a nice tractor and disc mower/conditioner. I often mowed a field without having a single stop. You were often close to the fence posts as was I, but I would think twice about trying it with the horses. Happy birthday Brenda, choose a good name for the foal x

  8. Happy Birthday Brenda! ❤

  9. I really enjoy your videos, I grew up on a farm very similar to yours. Enjoyed working with the horses on the farm, never should have left. Again enjoyed the video 👍👍👍👍

  10. Happy Birthday Brenda!!!!

Question for ya. How do you store your potatoes? We planted some last year and stored them in the basement and they grew the craziest amount of eyes. So we couldn't use them 😢.

  11. Lovely! Horses full into their summer bloom, shining like the champs they are. What a life you all have. Greetings from Australia.

  12. I. Worry for you & the horses when you are on the highway without the yellow warning triangle -alerting overtaking vehicles that you are moving very slowly m!

  13. I would vote for Bree, but it sounds too much like GEE for a working horse. 😢. Ahh the sounds of summer mowing! Thanks for sharing your many days.

  14. come on Jimmy, we want to know the name of the new horse, we been waiting, don't forget I like Dolly… LOL , come on Brenda get him in line….lol Love you guys god speed, me and wife can't wait….

  15. Brenda…beautiful camera work on the mowing!! Do you think the horses derive any feelings of satisfaction doing such a good job?

  16. Hello and thanks for all your lovely videos ❤
I can't help but thinking Bill looks a little skinny lately. I hope there is nothing wrong!?
