All my kiddos are grown now but when they were young, I didn’t really schedule during the summer. If the weather was rainy, we might go to the movies or an indoor play place but otherwise it was kind of play it by ear. The school year was so scheduled & busy it was kind of fun to just do thing’s at will. Plus sometimes 1 kid might have someone sleep over and another might have someone come over to swim during the day. Or one might go somewhere w/ a friend. And I would just do my thing (laundry, cleaning, cooking while they were playing or crafting or watching tv. Obviously swimming was not me thing that I really needed to be right there for so I would do laundry earlier or later. It was also the time that I actually made them more responsible. If they pulled out craft supplies, they had to put them away. Same w/ toys or pool things. Since they were on break, they had more time to complete chores rather then me doing as much.

Turn your tomato's upside down when storage… It keeps them for a lot longer in the fridge!
Tip for cleaning grill that is safer for your family… we use onions always have to clean grill. I’ve heard potatoes work too, but haven’t. My picky eater loves the skirt steak aka arrachera marinated because meat is so tender. Use citrus juices pineapple orange lemon with your favorite spices and lots of garlic or just buy Goya’s Criollo Mojo.

I owned a daycare for several years. I enjoyed planning theme days for Summer. I also tried to plan field trips and a school work type activity using the field trip experience as my subject.
As CA transports to the Midwest we LOVE how grilling enhances the flavor foods! Our neighbors sort of scratch their heads when we are out there in bad weather- still grilling! 😅

I am so excited, about this Summer, for I need to take my grandchildren to camp, when their parents can’t.
Today, my grandson, who is 8, started his first day at camp.
I took him, and it was fun, and his siblings r younger, and they will start camp tomorrow.
I had fun, visiting with the younger ones today.
I am concentrating on instilling good lessons within them, and started this game, of earning points, for good deeds, good listening, cooperation etc.

Lauren, you need to update the photos at the beginning of every video! Lol! Maybe some new chicken coop, the pool, your front yard decorating shenanigans…how you have been decorating your new home! I know it is a lot of work…we appreciate all your hard work in filming, editing, finding content…and life! Also, lay down parchment on your baking tray prior to putting bacon on it…oven safe – and makes clean up a lot easier!
Thankyou! I like to think I’m organised and enthusiastic for my daughter, but you have some excellent ideas to make sure they happen as planned. Also stretches your anticipation to really enjoy the experiences you plan. Lots of effort go into creating moments to make memories, but unless you slow down to walk through them, they’ll zip right by. Being present is a practice.

I love your videos. Just wanted to give you a little tip, you should never put tomatoes in the refrigerator.
Also, be careful when you’re handling raw meat. You were handling the raw meat and then touching the herb bottles and covers. That damn contaminated all of the bottles and your counters.
It must be a regional thing. We call anything on the grill “grilling”, and the only thing that is barbecue is meat with actual barbecue sauce on it – bbq ribs, bbq pork, etc. Always interesting like the the coke vs pop vs soda vs soft drink debate! 😂

Little tid bit on cutting corn off the cob… put a little bowl upside down in a larger bowl and put your corn cob on the smaller bowl and cut it and all the corn will fall into the larger bowl and you have your corn from the cob… super simple and fail proof!!!
