Edible Gardening

My Edible garden

Our edible Garden we have been working on for the past 6 months and we want to share how on a 600 sq metre block you can nearly become self sufficient. We live in Werribee Australia and have really enjoyed putting this garden together, of course it is still a works in progress, as we have not bothered to put down paths etc as yet, but we will in due course.

  1. Its not just your video thats good but also your great narative and pace in explaining. I once knew a bloke with a stubby in his hand, leaning on his veranda railing who would go out at eleven Oclock in the evening just to admire the steam eminating from my compost bins that were up against his fence ( in the corner just by the creek ! in Sunbury!!!! ) maybe he got a little inspiration for the future ? He was a builder by trade and played Man From Snowy River on the piano impecably… *****

  2. @MrJonniconni Well hello John, Yes you are right, that was a long time ago, I am a little different bloke these days and sustainability for us is paramount. You were an inspiration way back then and I often reflect on those days with fond memories. Thanks for the comment I will post more as they come to hand, this is still a works in progress, we only shifted in last year on July 1st. Regards Craig

  3. @SassafrasHomestead Well thank you for your kind words, there will be more to come as this is still a works in progress, good luck and best wishes for your own garden. By the way we also live in a temperate zone.

  4. @SassafrasHomestead Well we are pretty lucky here as you know our front garden is full of herbs, and we don't need to use a glasshouse. There is nothing better than being able to pick fresh produce from home, we save about $60-$70 a week from growing it at home. As for the Citrus, same deal we just have to watch the frost in winter, we don't get snow.

  5. Looks wonderful! I hope to have a garden like this. Just wondering about planting against house and watering causing damp brick walls. I plan on making a clay sloped margin around house walls to avoid damp – we have eroding bricks because of water drainage issues.
