All about COMPOSTING & just look at our BANANA CIRCLE – Food Forest EP10 wk16

This has to be THE BEST COMPOST, so we show you how to make your own FREE compost just from weeds and waste. Also what is BIOCHAR and we take a tour of the food forest and our banana circle.

Join us from our OFF GRID GARDEN in Portugal where we are growing a FOOD FOREST and embarking on our journey to be self sufficient and beat the cost of living crisis.

You can follow our progress from day 1, the very beginnings of our food forest as we create SWALES, plant trees, learn the whats, the whys and also how to follow permaculture principles, what are guildings, composting and soil regeneration.

  1. You could have the best soil composition and fertility in Portugal, so much care has gone into making this work. I can see why that's your favorite area Dom, it's looking tropical and such lovely colours.

  2. nana circle looks great 😀 and you will never be done adding to the center… it's a great dumping ground for when you finally need to trim the nannas and other plants… just dump it in the middle and the nana's will love you even more they can pretty much never get enough.

  3. The plants are looking great. When you get your crop of bananas have you been looking into how you can use or store them long term to make them last longer. Be interesting to see ideas on recipes or extending life of fruit and veggies. We throw so much away because it’s gone off before we can eat it. Good to see you all doing so well. 👍🏼🥰🤩

  4. Your garden is looking fabulous. When are you going to complete building your bathroom block you started last year before the visa debacle?

  5. In a future video, can you explain more about the plants in the banana circle that I think you called allocations?

  6. Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, beautiful garden good work 👍😁. good to see you in your element doing wonderful.

  7. Magnificent progress…..a huge credit to you both 👍….and now looking forward to your crop of 2024 bananas !☺
