Want to Grow Yuca? Here’s What You Need to Know! #yuca #gardeningtips #homestead

My family is from the Dominican Republic and we grow tons of yuca aka cassava, year round in my Florida zone 9B garden. This is a must survival crop if your looking for a dependable food source that will produce even in poor soils with little rain or nutrients. We harvest as needed and replant the cuttings. It is a tropical heat loving crop, so it will not grow well in areas that get snow or where the ground freezes. This is an awesome choice for permaculture settings and as a plant to incorporate into a food forest. Plants grow tall but have skinny stems so they easily fit in between other food crops and fruit trees.
