Planting a Full Shade Perennial Container & Woodland Garden Tour | Gardening with Creekside

Once again we are back in the woodland garden, and we are planting a full-shade perennial container in a Savannah Urn from Unique Stone. This container will give us years of gorgeous color and texture in the shade garden, and while we are in this space I am giving you an updated garden tour.

  1. I learn so much from you and appreciate each video! My question is how do you keep deer out of your flowers? Thanks again !

  2. Wonderful to see your thought process…. Especially about what it is going to look like in the winter months! Keep up the videos – the designs are very doable for typical gardens

  3. Happy planting. Yay, my purple heuchera coral bell made the cut🤗 . It is stunning. That queen of heart texture is so nice. I saw them at a local nursery and regret not buying any.😖

  4. I love the Savannah urn in there. The plants are a perfect combination. That garden really looks gorgeous. I learn so much from you. Thanks, Jenny!

  5. Lovely urn! That smoke is hard to take after awhile. Here in the greater Seattle area , I plan for it every summer. I have medical grade filters on several air purifiers in my house. Sigh 😔

  6. Question: My daughter loves your pants. Can you tell me brand or name of them. She said they look super comfortable. She also said you remind her of Katie Holmes. I agree! Can't believe I didn't notice that!! Thanks in advance. ❤❤

  7. Ohh Jenny I love that you added the urn to this flower bed. Adding the mulch topped everything off. Wonderful job . Can't believe how much you've done to this area it looks so natural and well planned out. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌💓💕💞

  8. I took your previous advice on Heuchera. The ones not doing well in the landscaping, I dug them up and put them in pots. Now they are thriving! Thank you. I have had great luck with Purple Palace and PW Fun and Games Heuchera in the ground though.

  9. I love your chanel and yoursweet voice, easy to listen to.your family are just as precious including Brenna,we are fur baby lovers as well so nessary for a complete family. Would love to be near Creekside yuo put our locals to shame!God Bless youand your family😇

  10. You kept me sane and calm going across the George Washington Bridge coming out of NYC! ❤the combo that urn 😍!

  11. What I have been using to cover over my holes in pots is a coco liner. I bought a coco liner just for cutting to size for each pot and it is working great. It's nice to see you planting without your wetsuit. 🤣

  12. Everything looks so crisp and clean with the mulch. I hadn't ever thought of using a black mulch. It really is pretty. I am wondering how you will be able to keep the plants alive all Winter in the planter? Will you wrap it in burlap or plastic wrap and then burlap? I am in Zone 5b, so I rarely see planters with anything in them all Winter. Thanks so much and Happy 4th of July!

  13. Greetings Jenny from SE Wisconsin. We are having the same haze as you are now experiencing for the last couple of days. The smoke was so severe here they were advising to wear masks if you were susceptible to trouble breathing etc. I love the planter you made. I also just planted the same wild berry heuchera and a Jack Frost brunnera in a dapled shade oak tree garden and its coming along so nicely. So was happy to see you chose a similar variety that I did.

  14. Question, if these plants get so big, why not plant less so the plants can get bigger? I understand you want to make a big impact right away, but maybe the fern, grass and the purple plant (don’t know spelling). Just wondering.

  15. I love Unique Stone products but haven’t had much luck finding any close to me. I especially love the Savannah urn and the Charleston Boy with basket! Can you tell me the cost of each one? I am seriously thinking about making a road trip to Creekside to check out the Unique Stone products that you have and to see your beautiful gardens and nursery.

  16. I love containers in planting beds. I have quite a few under our Doug Fir trees tucked among various ferns, forest grass and ground covers because things don't grow the best under there.

  17. I would be like oops I chipped another one darn. I guess this one’s going out into my garden.😂

  18. We are having the same haze from the fires in Canada! The container is great with those perennials! All your landscapes are beautiful!

  19. I love your woodland garden and the urn you planted! You mentioned that you have deer in the area but they don't bother your plants. What tricks do you have to keep them out?

  20. 😂😂😂
I would have packed white impatient and begonias in there for this 1st year😅😅😅
