Hattie’s pincushion. I don’t know who Hattie was (answers on a postcard please…) but the description of ‘pincushion’ is pretty accurate. Known more formally as Astrantia; these are good natured plants that demand attention without being in-your-face about it. Starting with a first flush of flowers in May, they can continue to bloom for months.
