Thanks for sharing! @ArmsFamilyHomestead
"Great drill bit isn't it?" Hilarious.

Why wouldn't this work on a grow bag too?
We have three old canoes we patched up and using the wicking system!
4 years later you still got people learning from your videos, I just started a bucket garden early April and it's coming along well! Can't wait to incorporate this amazing hack myself! Thanks for the awesome video
I mean what’s the coffee container actually for. Can’t you just add a higher drain hole like that and fill it up?
Tq for sharing a useful video.
I am glad I stumbled across this video. You made look easy enough to try! Thank you and I will check the link too.

Genius reservoir👌
Always use food grade buckets for vegetables.
Love all your helpful info and how you give Leon all the credit! 😅 I’ll keep watching!! Love the timer idea!
Can't you find a good digital time for less than $40 bucks. Seems like a lot.
MIgardener is rat.
Do you usually add water from the pipe, how many days do you add water, good work❤
It looked like you cut your drain hole above the MH can? Doesn't that leave the wicking medium always wet/anaerobic, leading to root rot?
I did this but my problem is the soil is clogging my holes in the mineral tub. Any ideas?? I’m not far from you and Leon. My tomatoes are just not producing. A few tomatoes but not many. Blooms then they drop.
I don't understand the air gap. Seems like there is no air gap at all, the water leaks out the coffee can into soil, the soil near bottom gets soaked and wicks itself up to the top. but where is the air gap? The drain hole on the bucket is an overflow drain hole, not an air gap.
Should not use empty Tide jugs like he said for this since the containers must be food-graded!
I'm jealous I wish I had a greenhouse
Moringa is abundant in Sri Lanka. But grow it directly on ground
Thank you! So excited to plant!
So please explain to me, How will you stop your plants from going down to the bottom of that 5 inch wicking space you have created. You need separation between the wicking space and the soil…The roots are definitely going to rot using your design. They’ll be sitting in that water mixed soil and suffocate.
I know it adds to the cost of the buckets, but I put a cap on my fill tube. I only had to water once a week until it got really hot, because the plant's transpiration rate wasn't enough to empty the water reservoir in 2 or 3 days. For the first couple of waterings, I used small clay pots with lids as ollas. I watered deep like you do, but the ollas kept the top soil from drying out. I love your video.
