Welcome Gardeners! After a bit of interesting weather this morning, we were able to have a VERY productive day! Jason and I were able to put together all 8 garden beds for my No-Till Garden! Compost is ordered and this project is making PROGRESS! ๐๐ผ Enjoy!

what i love is jason's cameo bc he deserves the screentime for helping to put it all together bahahahahaha
I love your team work!
So fun following your videos! You are so bubbly and personable! Quite the handsome hubby you have!
How cute was he ๐ I'm so happy that you have more room for ur projects and the girls. Sending love from WV ๐ชด๐๐ฅฐ
You have a very sweet husband.
So fun to watch your dreams come together! Why would you put the pool as far away from the house as possible? Your last pool was close to your living areas. Why are changing this? It seems there are more trees at the back of the lot. Won't the leaf litter in the pool cause a problem? Why not put your greenhouse in its permanent location? Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to follow your train of thought. Can't wait to see your house painted and your espaliers started!
You may have shared this already, But are toy putting in a pool eventually?
Are you concerned about the cardboard taking forever to break down without regular rain? I think I'd go deeper with the compost so plants have plenty of depth to root. I'd also wet the under side and topside of the cardboard before laying compost. I wet mine and I live in GA where we get regular torrential rains.
Janie, you and Jason got so much done today. The no til method is so awesome. It's going to look so beautiful with all the veggies and flowers growing and can't wait to see the green house. โค
Looks awesome. I didnt have probs with moles/voles when I lived in Woodland but I didnt have a huge garden!(and that was a long time ago). I've got one of the vego garden beds now so just put wire mesh underneath it before filling. Anything I plant here that I want to keep, has to go in a gopher basket ๐ I've never heard of the "no till" method. Gonna go look up! Really enjoying the transformation!
No dig is definitely the way to go! Living here in the Midwest, we are not deterred by weather. A few years ago my deck was power washed in the pouring rain ๐ we also drive in the snow โ๏ธ looking forward to seeing the transformation of your beautiful homestead โค
๐I have found Tom Cat Animal Repellent works better for me than Liquid Fence. No bunnies, no ground squirrels or regular squirrels. I have had Goldens in the past. Great dogs, very friendly. Like to chase critters. My son has Dachshunds and those guys are like bullets. They shoot after anything that dares gone into their space. Those little short legs are fast!
Iโve had local compost delivered several timesโฆ the most success I had was when I did an at home soil test (Lamotte) and adjusted ph and basic nutrients with amendments before planting. So much better!
What a beautiful ending with Jason I'm so glad he got into the garden todayโค๐งก๐งกโค๐ฅฐ๐ That was adorable thank you jason you put a smile on my face that was so cute๐ Jenny we love you and we love Jason too and those beautiful girls
Love it when your husband offers to help. You are moving right along getting lots done. Thank you for sharing.
You are taking us on a wild ride of a journey it's so exciting to be included in all of the new things going on
by the way what ever happen to the country cut flower garden you started on that person land ???? Even tho you don't need it now
FYI on a Permaculture idea if you mulch 3 to 7 inches then you wonโt have any weeds coming up theyโll just really have anything seed blowing and growing on top which is super easy to pull out!
You're doing alot, I love this beds!! My prayers to California!! Blessings!!๐
Those look so good! Loved the ending with Jason and your laugh after he closed the video ๐ will you be keeping that red mulch or eventually changing it to a darker color?
Youโre going to love the no-till method. Itโs so much better for the soil which in turn is better for the plants. ๐ We are so happy you are sharing this journey with us.
Great work, and thanks for tips about No Till garden. I will look for book about it.
Iโm from West Michigan, and Iโm amazed by your comments about how rain grinds everything to a halt in your area. If I moved to CA, that would take some serious adjustment! We tend not to let most weather get in our way, although I would say that weโre not really equipped for intense heat. For example, many schools donโt have air conditioning and some have had to close this week due to high temperatures. Iโm sure thatโs not the case in your area!
The garden beds are looking great. Youโve made so much progress so far!
Maybe you stated it but I didn't hear, why are u putting raised beds there instead of on the other the other side of your shed as the designer suggested. Is the plan to eventually move those planters and make it the partier garden/swimming pool area or have you decided to go in a different future direction? Thanks for sharing.
