Happy Saturday! 🌺💚🙃
Surprise! 🎉🎉🎉 my garden is ALWAYS messy! 🌺💚🙃
I would have been in that pool 24-7. 🌺💚🙃
My sister-in-law loves burnt potatoes chips! 🌺💚🙃
I love burnt marshmallows! 🌺💚🙃 I haven’t had one in years😢🌺💚🙃
Water spots were pretty! 🌺💚🙃
White aspen dracaena ? I think that’s what I heard you say. I didn’t catch the name the last video. 🌺💚🙃 She’s a beauty 🌺💚🙃
Oh there you go teasing us again about new plants! 🌺💚🙃
Tropical plants, don’t they love the heat? The tropics aren’t exactly cool. 🌺💚🙃
I saw the mother of all praying mantis the other day! They freak me out ! An alien head on a creepy stick with legs😱🌺💚🙃
Everything looks GREAT on camera, a few minor owies but otherwise GREAT ! 🌺💚🙃
I LOVE the variegation on shell ginger! 🌺💚🙃
I planted my shell ginger starts in a self watering container They seem to be doing okay. 🌺💚🙃
Their STILL not done with that pool? 🌺💚🙃
We woke up to a 45 degree morning this week. 🌺💚🙃
Your garden is always amazing….its suprising the temps. they came through…beautiful tropical magic…You've done wonders….thanks for sharing , Jeff.
Kinda a funny story. I knew that I had to divide some Dutch Iris that was next to a very small in ground pond, they were horribly overgrown and absolutely needed dividing. I soaked them down a couple of days ago because it is SO dry here that I didn’t think that I would be able to dig them up if I didn’t. Yesterday I thought today is the day that I’m going to tackle dividing the D. Iris, so I got my shovel and started digging and digging and digging, no luck, I watered some more and let that soak in and attacked it again, I wanted to be careful and not hurt the Iris so I careful started digging again, got my shovel underneath part of the clump still being careful and prying it up as much as I could. No luck getting them out. I watered agin, now I have a mud bath, still carefully trying to pry them up and no dice. I was getting extremely tired by then and soaked with sweat but I was determined to get them out! Now I’m soaked with sweat, muddy and pulling with all my might because those darn things were coming out now one way or another! I tried to get a shovel in there to cut them apart again no dice. I finally told myself that whatever happens happens to those Iris and I kept pulling and tugging and prying, finally success! The Iris are all mangled I’m muddy and soaked with sweat and VERY hot and tired at this point. Too tired to dig more holes to plant them, so I watered the mangled roots and just left them there. I’m going out now to try and get them divided and hopefully replanted 🤞🏻maybe some of them survived. My lesson from yesterday is never ever plant D. Iris close to anything that you can’t access from all sides unless you have dynamite! Wish me luck splitting them apart ! P.S. I’m not replanting them close to any other plants or shrubs so they can multiply ALL they want. The really interesting thing is they have only been in the ground for two years and I think I started with only five plants, WOW talk about bang for your buck! 🌺💚🙃
Thank you Jeff, be safe, stay healthy and we will see you next time. And thanks for letting an old lady ramble! 🌺💚🙃
Oh I out did myself this week 🤣🤣🤣🌺💚🙃
Those construction workers are probably admiring your beautiful gardens 👍❤️
Oh my gosh I forgot to tell you ! I hang clothes on the line. One of my socks blew off the line, no big deal, I put the sock on and as I was working outside I THOUGHT I had a nerve jumping on my foot, well okay that happens, it jumped in the same spot again, decided to look, there was an earwig in my sock 😱 I immediately thought of you and centipedes 😱🌺💚🙃
My Bananas are trying to make little bananas.
Hi Jeff, for me been a cool summer few hot days mixed in. Last week was in-between two tornados. Knocked over half of my sun flowers. Braced them with some vet tape and bamboo skewers they all perked up. All my annual plans grew smaller. My zenias grew big as usual.
Happy labor day to you, and I absolutely experienced the same long and Drawn out spring here in Virginia
And I think everything looks so lush and beautiful
Hello Jeff 👋 loving your tropicals, Calocasias (?) I can never remember the names nor the spelling 🤪 love the long leaves, distinct veining/color, and rippling on the leaves 😊 those impatiens are rock stars with bringing beautiful color. Everything you had recently potted up looks fantastic! I need help identifying my palm that was here when i moved here in Oct. The frons are yellowing on edges, it is in front of my house, East side, full sun, zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast, The trunk has a fat girth, i assume frons coming out at the base are suckers? It is about 9 ft. tall now, at least double the size since Oct. I have never had a palm so… lol We FINALLY got a fair amount of rain earlier this afternoon, YAY!! 2day was our "water day" (we are on restricted days) But, we didn’t have to do it, mother nature gave us a break 😊 Cant wait to see your new plants you are hiding 😂. Hubby bought me 2 more Crotons 2day, 1 Petra, 1 Mammy. (I have only had Petras b4) 2 of my Bromeliads are beginning to pup which is sad and exciting. You take care of yourself. Looking forward to seeing your next video!
August wasn't too bad in my part of Ontario, Canada. However this coming week we we have a week of temps at 30c to 35c, with humidex values making it feel like the low 40's. I've never, in my 70 years experienced a Sept. that hot. My plants are not going to be happy since we just came out of a week where night temps were 10c-12c feeling like 8c.
Your plants have held up well in this scorching summer heat & humidity. I too have not been outside to enjoy my tropical garden in recent weeks it’s been like a sauna when you go out I’ve been doing watering about 6 am in the morning. Can’t remember if I told you I have my first banana in bloom with bananas I’m so excited
