*The VRBO was nice, but a $22 Uber or $17 cab into town or 20 min walk to the main attractions. The bed was not great, but everything was nice. Trastevere had great food options right downstairs, which was so nice. The host coordinated our ride from the airport for $60. Having pre-arranged private transportation was nice after a long flight.

ℹ️ About the Episode:
This episode has been a long time in the making. We knew that when our third and last child went to college, we needed to take a trip and break the routine. Rather than dwelling on how things are different, we wanted to take charge of the difference. Traveling abroad is something we’ve wanted to do more of, and it’s a bit easier now that it’s just the two of us again. We’ll be spending a month in Italy, covering most of the country, including Rome, Bari, Assisi, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Venice, Lake Como, Milan, and many spontaneous stops along the way. In fact, the spontaneous spots have been the most rewarding so far!

  1. Sooo excited to watch you two in Italy.. I’ve been 3 times in the past 10 years but have so much more to see!!! I can’t wait to come along & live vicariously through you& your friends … your itinerary looks AAWWmazing! Sundays can’t come fast enough! Safe travels!💖

  2. OMG Guys, I've watched al of your vids and could not be more excited about your Italian adventures. I'm based in Australia and we are buying a farm in Umbria, so coming along on your journey is amazing. We are hoping to be in Italy next month.

  3. I grew up washing and drying my parents percolator that they made their coffee with. Haven’t seen one of those in quite a while. So glad you are doing this fun trip

  4. I've been a viewer for few years now. I love watching all of your adventures and I'm looking forward to what's to come. You guys are crushing it!! Keep up the good work!

  5. We did the same hurricane drill after the Tampa airport closed Tuesday at 12 AM and caught a flight to Atlanta from Gainesville on Monday with the Rome connection to Palermo. After several trips to Rome I encourage all to visit the Mom & Pops restaurants off the tourist traps around the tourist visit sites. I think the KYD team should rent a RV and share there experience on European travels. You only live once.

  6. How awesome to spend a whole month touring Italy!! I lived in Brindisi when I was about 6 (more years ago then I care to remember) because my dad was in the Air Force and was stationed there. I remember visiting Rome (we stayed with nuns – don’t remember why) and seeing the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum (and lots of cats) and trying to get the Vatican Guards to talk to me. My (much older) sister was almost arrested for trying to use counterfeit money (she didn’t know that it was), but thankfully it ended well. Would love to go back as an adult!! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing what adventures you get to experience.

  7. Awesome video and trip! An Italy tour is on my wife and I's bucket list. We were hoping to do it this year to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary but we just couldn't put together enough time to do it the way we wanted this year. Instead we're doing a blitz tour through Paris – Bruges, Belgium – Amsterdam – and Edinburgh. We're cramming as much in as we can!

  8. I want this in my life. I mean relationship-wise two friends in love making memories together. That's my inspiration. Enjoy Italy!!! Bari is real nice!!!

  9. Thanks for taking me along to Italy. I was at our cabin last weekend and one of the football games on the dish was Liberty, I was tempted to watch it just to see if Caleb was at the game… but I didn't.
A classmate of mine, decades ago, from Puerto Rico had a Bialetti (smallest, 3 cup size) and I had to explain to him why he always ended up with the jitters every morning… just too much caffeine for him.
The music fit the vibe of your trip, empty nesters who are kids all over again. I imagine that, even with a daughter getting married and your youngest in college, you're living out new daydreams. I'm looking forward to my next transition, semi-retirement, in a few years, and hoping that my bride and I will be enjoying it as much as you are in your transition.

  10. I miss Caleb already!!! He's such a bright spot and has the best sense of humor

Trish can you please tell me where you get your t shirts, tank tops and adorable skirts??

  11. With just 2 of you now traveling are you going upgrade to possibly the Airstream Pottery Barn or the new Airstream Tradewind

  12. Trish, where can I get that jean jacket? I love where it hits at your waist. Been looking for one like that for years. Help!! 😊😊

  13. Glad you got your flighr We are Talor county Fl. We took a direct hit from the hurricane power restored in about a week internet and landline phone was out about 3 weeks. A ton of trees down power pole pulled down but things are cleaning up slowly. And no one was hurt
