Any hope left for my pleiospilos nelii?

I had problems with mealy bugs (on my other plants) that are gone now. I cannot remember seeing them on these two, however I do remember a very small black insect that caused the malformation of the left one on the split. That was about a year ago.
Anyway two weeks ago I cleaned them, just to be sure, with isopropanol 70%, roots and all. Repotted and hope for the best. The roots weren’t in the best condition, not sure they’ll be able to grow and take in moist.
They seem in coma or slowly dying.
Any suggestions how to revive them?
Thanks for your help!

Make sure they have lots of light. Are they under a grow lamp? You may even want to give them a leg up with some diluted fertilizer but water them only when the soil is completely dry. They are extremely slow growing so best to just give them the best growing conditions possible and wait and see.

The one on the right looks healthy though besides the bottom leaves, but that’s fine. The one on the left looks worse for wear.

  2. Thnx! That’s precisely what I did, so I guess now wait and see. They are in a very bright room and since autumn is kicking in I just put on the growing lamp and seedling mat back in place yesterday.
True, most concerned about the left one. Both had some very rigid dried out outer leaves that weren’t ‘dissolved’ as much as they should. Did cut that rigid almost ‘stoney’ part away with a sharp pair of nail scissors.
