Gary Pilarchik: How to Seed Start Asparagus Indoors – Save a Year by Starting Early! – TRG2016

Many people plant Asparagus by planting 1 year old crowns/roots. Once planted you have to wait 3 years before harvesting asparagus spears as to give the roots time to mature and establish. If you start Asparagus by planting seeds in the ground, you may have to wait 4 years before you can harvest. However, if you seed start them indoors you can cut a year off your harvesting wait time.
