A review of the 5-1-1 high porosity potting mix. This uses 5 parts pine bark, 1 part peat moss and 1 part perlite. I modified the original version by using 2 parts of peat moss instead of 1. This causes better water retention. This is a high maintenance potting mix but very well draining.
The 511 potting mix or 511 planting mix is a very fast draining potting mix. Since drainage is a very important for potted plants, having a proper drainage system helps your plants grow better.
