Here is a walk through on our issues with the Back to Eden garden system. Back to Eden is a gardening system that relies heavily on wood chips for mulch. In short, it just didn’t work for us. We had issues with germination, plants not thriving and flat out seedlings dying.
The good news is we have a plan. We are excited about the future and are looking forward to trying permanent beds.
The awesome thing about homesteading and especially gardening is that you can expirement, learn and modify your plans.
We still hope to use wood chips in our compost but it is going to need to be a longer cycle than what we had hoped.
