  1. If I might add a few tips…

    1. Besides saving the seeds for next season’s garden, you can also so soak them in salt water. Drain, spritz and toss with a little olive oil, put them on a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake them slowly in the oven until they’re nice and roasty. A yummy snack.
    2. Save the squash peeling for the compost pile or for your chickens, either way they help the garden.
    3. When mixing your dough, mix it only until it’s thoroughly combined (shaggy stage). Let it rest for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the gluten will have developed on its own, the dough will become smooth. Just give it a few folds to make sure it’s mixed thoroughly and shape it into a ball to rest. This will save your hands from having to knead it.
    4. When making your filling, you can add chopped pecans (my favorite), or nuts of your choosing. It helps offset some of the sweetness.
    5. When roasting your squash, put it on your baking sheet lined with parchment. It will help during cleanup.
    6. Also, prior to roasting your squash, brush it with little oil, helps keep the moisture in and will add with the roasted flavor.
    7. Make sure your yeast is active before adding it to your dough. Use warm liquid (108°) mix with yeast separately. Watch and be sure it blooms, then add to dough

I hope you enjoy these tips, I’ve been cooking, baking & canning foods since I was a very little girl, I’ll be 60 soon and still going strong.❌⭕️🙏🏽♥️

  2. Recipe looks great, components sound delicious. Just a suggestion, we need to see what the roll looks like inside (it's an indication of moistness or dryness, etc) and how it pulls apart. When you've been cooking/baking for a long time, trusting a recipe is difficult and seeing the final product in action is quite important.

  3. Looks like the MOST DELICIOUS cinnamon roll recipe EVER!!! My mouth is watering just watching! Always appreciate your cooking thoughts and suggestions.

  4. nice ….lets see cooking !! we do everything from scratch. !! Love EZ things we grew up on..&. Italian and French !!~( French & sauces…are sooo much work)… but sooo worth it……..nice video !! Thanks…. like the squash combo….totally see (taste) it !!

  5. MI kitchen sounds amazing! Cannot wait to make these rolls- totally healthy now because of the added vegetable of course- you know, gardener math! 😂😂

  6. I would love to see you add a cooking channel. Like other commenters, I could always use inspiration for new ways to prepare the food I grow–especially vegetables.

  7. YES YES YES!!!!! You’ve gotta launch a cooking/baking channel for rainy days. It’s so hilarious that you mentioned this at the end of this video, because I was just thinking of how much I enjoy your videos in the kitchen! Your style and approach to preparing food is so wholesome and entertaining!

  8. Had a huge bumper crop of Tahitian butternut this year (think butternut squash but leg-sized) and have been trying to figure out more ways to use them. Would definitely like to see a cooking channel for more of these recipe ideas.

A cooking channel makes sense with a gardening channel. It will be a benefit to learn how to use the produce and herbs you grow.
