  1. Fire ants came up from Kentucky on a peony shrub and has survived Michigan winters. My mother subdivided her peonies and mine came with fire ants. Got burned by a swarm here in Berkley Michigan about thirty years ago as I was standing in the wrong place. How they knew to bite all at once is befuddling.

    I control the fire ants by planting the shrub at a less frequented area of my small yard. The ants have not migrated anywhere else. So maybe planting some peonies in an isolated location might draw them away.

  2. I'm still gardening outside and indoors but I don't think anyone wants to see my few inches of growth from last week to this. 😂😂 But I'll be updating later on.
