I’ve been seeing them for years now but never figured out exactly what they are. To my knowledge, nothing was alive in this jar other than algae and ostracods. They sort of look like pupae with a thin tube on one end, and they’ll sometimes end up stuck to the side of the glass above the water. Some of them are translucent, and have algae growing on them.
