Japanese Garden

SHOWA MEMORIAL PARK by Real Japanese Gardens 4K 2023

This beautiful Japanese landscape garden in Tachikawa, Tokyo is one of Japan’s younger gardens. Construction works were completed in 1997 and opened in April of the same year. The Showa Memorial Garden was established in 1983 as part of the 50th jubilee of Emperor Showa.

The area was previously used by the American Air Force but was returned to the Japanese government in 1977. A part still remains as a Japan Self Defence Force base. This is good to know since you often experience very loud noises of helicopters and airplanes close to the Japanese garden.
