Container gardening for beginners it’s been just 15 days the radishes are doing really well the lettuce around the edge somebody snuck in some carrot seeds and three of the five tomatoes have come up already our smaller container with just lettuce it looks like we’re starting to

Get some first true leaves coming on and our leggy seedlings that we potted up they’re going to be ready to go in the ground here after this next Frost well looks like our onions and our garlic are coming along just fine our weather’s about to change we’re forecast to have thunderstorms tonight

Rain most of the day tomorrow Welling in tomorrow night we’re also going to get a little Frost but everything we have out here now is either hardened in or big enough that it should be able to take a 32° morning it’s been cool enough at night we’ve been bringing these in and they’re

Trying to stretch for the Sun a little bit but we’re going to let these have four or five more days biggest one and leave in here and we’ll take the others and we’ll put in the containers I’ll show you how to do that in a few days

Let me know how your container Garden’s going this is going to be exciting I can’t wait to harvest with you now our one container with the Tomato in it is got to come in the house tomatoes do not like it cool this trellis of peas are doing fine

The broccoli cauliflower and cabbage we planted the other day they’re doing great and check this out now right here and right here were kale that look like they got frozen down and they’re coming back with a vengeance our arugula right here they’re coming on really well this is another

Beat one that comes up that’s going to go to seed and I’ve got a cilantro that’s coming up in here or two or three we got the last couple onions we didn’t pick from last year it’s got a really nice seed head on there those should come off

The ground pretty good and make a really beautiful little ball this other trellis of peas are doing really well but you see where the wind is blown has brought those leaves right back in is mulching I don’t even have to do anything obviously we’re just showing what is possible for a new gardener

Now if you wanted to have a traditional garden a row Garden a Market Garden we would have each one of these individually in a little container and we would P space them out but what fun is that this way we can set this on the window sill and we’ll be able to eat

Fresh lettuce for several months and you can’t tell that I harvested a bunch of spinach off of this and these young ones that are coming on remember we planted that in the dead of winter let me know how your container Garden’s growing and if you haven’t started one you still

Have time you can do this too remember until next time take care of yourself take care of your family and God bless you me you’re pretty boy

  1. Was wondering what I need to do with the seed head on onion? Been growing them in containers for several & just cut off green stems for cooking, the first ones are about one inch thick at base. Notice one had that head thing on it-thought it was going to flower. Don’t recall what grandma did, just remembered she put ends of green onions in pot & used with cooking.
