This cutting does not appear to have what you’ll need for propagation. You want to ensure you get a node when cutting eligible plants. A node is a connection point on a plant’s stem where new stems can form, such as leaves, branches, or aerial roots.
What type of plant is this? Looks to be a type of lily. If that’s the case, this is a plant that grows from a bulb. In that case, you can propagate them however it is done much different. You start by taking small offsets or bulblets from the base of the parent bulb. These would be eligible for planting in soil to form a new plant.

I have other varieties of lilies in my outdoor gardens. If you have them planted outdoors. Carefully till up your garden and you will locate their bulbs.
