ABOUT FOREST STONE
We’re a family business obsessed with paving and what it can do to transform outside spaces. Seeing the beginnings of a project, and then checking in on it when the build has reached its potential is what we love. It’s why we do what we do. After years of working in the industry for landscaping supplies merchants we realised we’d love the freedom to stock a versatile range of products and make the buying experience as good as it possibly can be. This is what we hold in our minds every day we’re at the yard. Paving your way.

[Music] so if we supplied you with these two materials our Bliss pavers and our limit and Limestone what would you do with them you might um lay the paving down do some sort of uh edging out of the Limestone like that um you might think actually you know what maybe I could make some kind of like weird like table thing like this um well we gave these two to Smith and Gorman and they did something pretty cool them [Music] [Music] so for this build um Smith and Gorman had a brief from the clients where they wanted to bring a taste of their holiday home on the south coast of Spain to their home in England um try and make life in England in the winter feel a little bit more cheerful be reminded of like those sunny days that we do get here in England every so often and you get a lot more of out in Spain um so that was the brief and uh the guys from Smith and Gorman sort of looked at the Hard landscaping material side of this and thought what do you see on the you know coast of Spain Italy and Greece a lot of it is a light pale beige cream sort of colored um limestones a lot of Natural Stone gets used in those areas um so they were like we we need a natural stone and we need something that was pale or cream beige um that that kind of colorway um so our Limington June uh partnered with our blissford pavers was was ideal really because the the blisswood has a little bit more color variation and a little bit more texture um that adds to the character you know when you see a lot of um Old Stone like Paving um areas in uh places like Greece um the Stone’s been laid there for years and a lot of it has got a natural sort of like textured finish to it um and that’s why the Limon June was chosen over our smoother Limon beige [Music] and being an Egyptian our Livington June has actually quarried not far from the Mediterranean itself um so it it was a natural fit um for the Mediterranean aesthetic that the the clients [Music] wanted [Music] yeah in the chapter Smith and Gman specifically wanted the Bliss for pavers to go with the limit in June because of the extra color variation and texture that you get they wanted a little bit of a sort of a flourish um in with the hard landscaping materials and the way they’ve um laid them in these paths leading up uh to the central water feature is really beautiful and um I love the different orientations they’ve used with the fan around the water ball um they’ve switched the orientation as well towards the barbecue to go in um rows going uh transversely to the rest of the rows um I think it’s absolutely [Music] lovely so in continuing the pale Limestone theme on the hard landscaping materials they’ve also uh put a smattering of peret limestone rocks um so our own local perette Limestone which actually comes from the south coast of the UK um they’ve also used the pervette drystone Walling to surround the water bowl and to surround those beautiful olive trees that were soured from F and floss um local to in the New Forest really really great for trees and and those two are beautiful we’ve got two of their olive trees in our displays ourselves and yeah absolutely love [Applause] them and of course no Mediterranean style Garden would be complete without plants like the lovely olives and so for the rest of the planting on this Garden they’ve used largely drought tolerant plants that um you’d be used to seeing in in drier areas um and that just adds to the Mediterranean aesthetic and as an extra bonus um to this build um the limit and June itself looks perfect when married up with the warm Uh Wood plank style flooring that the property owners had inside they’ve got um sort of a pretty flush threshold with big bfold doors and it it pretty much created a sort of a flowing not quite seamless but almost seamless um transition from inside to out and I can imagine when we do get those sunnier days um we uh will be seeing the clients using their Garden a lot more in conjunction from the inside of their [Music] house it was great fun supplying this project um and seeing it transform from a kind of Fairly run-of-the Mill Garden to what it looks like now and um it’s a it’s a really cool project to supply cuz when I started sending some pictures to sort of friends and family of this one um a lot of people were saying to me straight away where is that um because I think you look at it and think it doesn’t look like it’s um it’s England and that of course was um what Smith and Gman are trying to achieve so well done chaps you’ve absolutely nailed it absolutely love [Music] it [Music]
