Plant Propagation

3 weeks and still nothing. Whats happening and what’s the best way to prop?

So I thought I was being patient but it’s been three weeks and no sign of roots. Whats going on? I bought Prop Drops thinking it would really help and haven’t noticed anything.

Also, I have a few other plants to propagate. I’ve heard just stick it in water, I’ve heard to cut into each node a little to help stimulate growth. Any tips?

Ps. Last two pics were from 2 weeks ago.

Do you have the ingredients for Prop Drops? I’m extremely skeptical.

Did this have turgor pressure when it was cut? How much light exposure is this getting? The drooping is going to b related to one of those two factors.

Did you submerge it right away without a callous? Lately, it’s been a trend to callous cuttings, but this is based on a poor understanding of fungal and bacterial pathogens. Besides, a callous blocks the ability to uptake water, leaving the cutting in decreased health while attempting to get roots. My apologies if this isn’t relevant to you.

edit: I see that the turgor pressure was better two weeks ago. Callousing would explain the loss of turgor pressure since then.

Might be too big and is struggling because of that. You could get three cuttings out of this.

The only times I’ve had pothos not prop successfully were 1) my kid used kid scissors to cut it so it wasn’t a clean sharp cut and 2) it wasn’t a healthy plant to begin with. Also sometimes if the temps are cold or drafty where the prop is.

Something like pothos can simply be put into soil. Try to have 4 or more nodes and a growing leaf.
