I'm trying to propogate some turtles in a vivarium, I notice every few days some of the detached leaves die while the string itself don't really grow. What is the usual cause of such issues? Soil is always moist and not swampy as shown.

you’ll pretty much always lose some
leaf cuttings- it’s rarely a 100% success rate but i think you’re keeping your soil a bit too wet? if they’re rotting. treat it a bit more like a succulent- bright bright light & only water when the soil is dry- there are no developed roots in there yet so the water just sits& can become stagnant, you just want the top layer to be moist. you’ve got a drainage hole in that pot don’t you?
