Plant Propagation

can I propagate this?

I was trimming my mom's plant (I thunk ir is Chinese Evergreen) and I was wondering if something can grow out of this

  1. Until you get definitive information from someone who is familiar with the species I think the best thing to do right now is to let the cut end callus for a day and then submerge 1/3 of the stem in clean water. Those cells within the stem are probably alive and may be able to regenerate roots. But if the stem gets dehydrated I doubt it will survive so I would get it in some water. If you don’t see any signs of life after 10-14 days I would lightly scratch the bark. If the cambium (just beneath the bark) is green, it’s still alive and may grow. Don’t give up unless there is no green (living) tissue under the bark (i.e. brown).

Yeah, it looks like an aglaonema (Chinese evergreen), but I’m not certain. I would cut this into two to three segments to help aid in rooting. If a cutting is too big, it just can’t support itself while it roots. I think you could try water propagating, but I’ve also seen people have success propagating leafless stems by placing them in prop boxes as well.
