Let’s do an unboxing video together we haven’t done one in a while so for today’s video I got as the gardener Supply Titan a trellis and this will support my piece here in the bed and we’re going to look at what’s in the box how long does it take to build how difficult it is and my first impressions if I would recommend it or not so let’s get going so why did we choose the Titan serus for the a frame trus I have already W um trus from the series which is a squash tunnel like the Titan squash tunnel which is the arc where all my veggies scw over in the two vgo bats and this one really was impressive so far and still is actually it is up all year around here in our harsh conditions in New England so far it’s still holding up well no complaints no deterioration so far and yeah can’t really complain so I’m curious to see how easy this one is to build up in case you’re still wondering if you can plant peace still plant have time so you can still put some in the ground and if you’re curious to learn how to do this something great for kids check out this video over here this is one which we justed a few weeks ago so this is the box we have a bunch of steaks The netting uh some connector some more connection portions and then of course the description all right let’s read the description always important assembly is the easiest with two persons well there’s second person I got to say I’ve built that big one all by myself with not a problem so that’s smaller I think we got that here with one but we’ll see otherwise Maggie’s in the back as a second person um identify and organize all parts on a clean level surface just cleaned the deck yesterday for that very purpose so we should good why is it so windy today want to use a drone too that’s not going to happen Okay I had to look at the pieces first for a little while to understand what we’re going to do so we have here um the two tops then we have four bottom pieces which go into all of them then we have eight cross bars like for the sides cross bars in the middle and then one top cross bar so but they are all the same so so in here those are the parts which we need for the legs okay yeah that looks that looks more solid okay number one here you can see the top part and then we’ll just push those ones on the bottom and have those bottom pieces they have the pointed the pointy Edge then we’ll put those ones down below here and it sticks decently fine so once that’s in the ground that for sure will stick well so now we’re basically putting in the top and now you get also a good feeling for the height of it because I’m like 5’11 so if you put it up it’s higher or taller than me but um yeah it’s somewhere around 510 is or something over five if you put it down into the ground it has a little bit um less height but that will be totally sufficient for peas and the Cucumbers I plan to grow on it so what we’re going to do is basically it has here this grubber on the top and that is where we’re going where this one is basically going in the wind does make it easier today so now comes the tricky part which took me with the last TRS with squat tles for a second those ones are the ones um which basically make the connections for the site for the sides those clips and they always take a second for me to realize how they go on I think I might go downstairs quickly and check how it’s done there and here we have the right one so the loop sits on the steak and then it goes in and then you just weep those ones around I think I did it correct let’s go back so I just parked it on the deck so I can use the deck like panels or planks as measurements and I think it’s easier to attach this way as well making sure that’s somewhat decently shaped so we’ll see that do that on both sides and then we’ll put the bottom bracket in which will create then the A-frame shape and now I actually recognize I did it wrong because I was counting on the picture the wrong things it has four down from the top not the top included so we got to untie those three ones again and make them a little bit tighter to put a fourth one down after I had to redo it um yeah flipped it already around so the other side should be fast now because we basically just put in the stakes where the other staks are so that should be really really easy um let’s do that also quick advice don’t do that when you have fresh nails or anything luckily I don’t for once um you will scratch them just as an [Music] FYI you put this around here align it up with the outside over here and then you really take those two ones and just push them over one over here and the other one over there and this needs some Force we have finally the step in that took a little longer because of that one detour but the last step um which is missing is to put two cross bars um in it to really make sure that it has stability because we don’t want to tip it because it will falter so we’ll do the cross bars and then it should have good stability and then only The netting is missing and then we put it into the B [Music] it is decently stable more stable than you think it is when you’re building it up you will when you build it up you think like oh my God that will never hold I had exactly the same impression from that squash tunnel so I knew that before but once it’s like all connected those weird Clips hold everything in tight you can’t move anything around ever when you do that so that’s it’s really really welld designed so and it’s still yeah I like it after after it clicked how to do it those clips really don’t take long the longest is really to adjust and make sure that they’re decently straight um which I think they are they’re not perfect but we’re not aiming here for perfect we’re aiming here for Simplicity and yeah I decided to um keep them a little bit um higher off the ground I did this with a squash tunnel as well because I want to um pull them uh push them into the ground deep because that gives them additional stability when you have them really really put in deep so probably I’ll aim for that those two ones are almost on the ground um when we’re done here this gives also some um a short distance for the piece to really LED on so now the netting is the only thing which is missing so let’s get that over okay so please note that the netting doesn’t go down to the bottom which now that I think about it also makes sense because the bottom gets pushed into the ground so it’s uh just starting at the first bracket um and end on the other first bracket on the other side lengthwise all right The netting is on as good as we could tie it on but let’s bring it downstairs and put it into the bed the good thing is it’s light we have it here in the bat as you know we have two of them so there’s a second one coming for the other side as well but the depth fits perfectly here for my 4×8 bed look at my beautiful piece but uh I think the bunnies found them we got to have a fortress here soon again but I’ll push those on gradually down so a little bit here a little bit there a little bit here and a little bit over here and now it’s actually Rock Solid I’m am quite happy with it that is not going to go anywhere um and now we have also a small distance to the piece what I’m going to do is so we put a second one up here I don’t think I have had in me today to do the second one today um I’ll do that under the week but what I will also do is probably like from half of it or so to put just a little bit of twine into the middle to help the ones in the middle to find something to climb on as well so as you can tell I have only like an rectangle in the Middle full with pece and a space around it empty because that is where we plant the cucumbers in probably beginning of June to like flip that bed four weeks later when the cucumbers are all flourishing and the peas are tuckered out which is probably end of June usually when it’s also getting hot we’ll see about that but that is the only bat where I have a flip because it’s a fairly easy flip to like rip out the piece and let then the um squash and the Cucumbers flourish here so yeah I’m excited I got to say it took me a little longer than I expected it to be granted I could have paid more attention recording next to it always takes a little bit of attention away from the project every once in a while so um that probably took it on from the moment I understood how many and where they should go it was rather quick process so I’m sure the the next one will be built in like 20 minutes or so and even though they come in many many pieces once you have assembled them they are pretty pretty solid so I am confident that this one will do as well as my squash and like my squash Titan tunnel the boards are a little bit smaller than this but I don’t think that will um have any impact on its stability it feels really solid especially now that’s it’s in the ground so um we’ll see so yeah subscribe here to see the progress I’ll definitely keep your posted here on what I think and what I do what is going to be interesting to see is as you saw through the video we have a lot of wind always coming here exhibit a right now and I hope the audio is okay but I have the dead cat on so it should be okay but um we have always wi here like it doesn’t matter when and which direction it’s always windy and especially in the summer we have up to Hurricane winds um so when this is full with pees and gets like a swing of the wind one way or the other that is going to be interesting on how it will do but we’ll find out together so yeah I hope this video was interesting for you let me know what you think when if you have any questions otherwise subscribe and watch another video thank you

  1. Nice trellis! I used the word "fortress" today with regard to the garden, too. Need to protect from all the creatures — especially the groundhog. Ugh, that groundhog has been brutal in the past.

  2. Looks great! I’m sure the peas will flourish with this trellis! I’m excited to see the progress.

  3. It’s a nice trellis, but the hardest part of assembly was putting on the netting so I wish that section was shown with a touch more detail.

  4. Thanks so much for demonstrating setup. The instructions were not very clear! Great idea to use for peas/cucumbers – I will do that. You must be harvesting peas by now.
